Abstract
Monoclonal antibodies have been studied in human medicine for a while. They target specific receptors and cytokines, and are highly specific and effective in blocking their target molecule. Lokivetmab is a monoclonal caninised anti-IL-31 antibody that was recently approved for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in dogs. Currently, no other therapeutic monoclonal antibody is used in veterinary medicine.
