Creativity is one of the must-have skills in 21st-century learning. This is in line with Bloom's Theory, which states that creativity is the highest ability of cognitive development, accordingly, it is important for preschool-aged children. Preschool-aged children learn to stimulate creativity through various activities. Such activities must refer to the analysis needed by the standards of early childhood learning. Activities to stimulate early childhood creativity need to be refined by adjusting to the child's stage, namely learning through play. Playing activities must be able to stimulate the goals to be achieved. One of the play activities that can stimulate the creativity of young children is painting. The method used in this research is the literature review. Books and articles were used as the materials of the study. The results of the theoretical study analysis showed that playing through painting activities can help stimulate early childhood creativity. Based on the result of the discussion, it could be concluded that the playing through painting activities accentuate children's freedom of self-expression. Self-expression activities will actively foster children's imagination. Also, playing through painting activities may lead to a positive impact on the development of children's self-confidence, social skills, and language skills.
