A Simple Model Predictive Current Control to Improve Current Performance with Fixed Switching Frequency for Four-leg VSI fed Two-phase Loads
This paper presents a simple model predictive current control (MPCC) method to improve current performance and achieve the fixed switching frequency for the four-leg voltage source inverter (VSI) fed two-phase loads. In the proposed method, a desired voltage vector is firstly introduced to avoid the current prediction calculations. Then, three voltage vectors, which are selected by the location of the desired voltage vector, are applied during one sampling period with a predetermined switching sequence to drive the inverter. This achieves the fixed switching frequency and significantly reduces the current harmonics. Simulation results are given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed MPCC method.
