The Relationship Between Exclusive Breastfeeding and Birth Weight with Fine Motor Development to Infants
Exclusive breastfeeding is very important in fulfilling nutritional needs and is important in the development of baby's fine motor skills. Fine motor development in infants is influenced by many factors, one of which is nutrition both during pregnancy and after birth. In addition, the baby's weight at birth can also be influenced by the nutritional intake of the mother during pregnancy. Baby's weight at birth is one of the important keys in all the musty development and provides a picture of children's life expectancy and health in the future. This study aims to determine the relationship of exclusive breastfeeding and a history of birth weight with fine motor development in infants aged 6-11 months. This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 284 infants aged 6-11 months. This study was randomized from eight health centers in the Kulonprogo Regency. The method of measuring data on exclusive breastfeeding and birth weight is based on interviews and growth chart, data on fine motor development based on the results of the Kuesioner Pra Skrining Perkembangan (KPSP). Data were tested using the Chi-square test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding (p-value= 0, 000) and a history of birth weight with fine motor development in infants aged 6-11 months (p-value = 0.000). There is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and a history of birth weight with fine motor development in infants aged 6-11 months.
