Important though they are, not much is known about their functional patterns and population dynamics. A question of particular interest, which is still to be understood, is how bacteriophages regulate the population dynamics of Streptomyces and how this regulation affects the soil ecosystem as a whole. Isolation and study of new Streptomyces bacteriophages can help to understand these problems. In this paper, we describe isolation of a new bacteriophage from the soils of the Prioksko- Terrasny Reserve. A New Bacteriophage Of The Family Siphoviridae Isolated From The Soddy-Podzolic Soils Of The Prioksko-Terrasny Nature Reserve
