Abstract
A significant amount of effort has been devoted over the last two years to the development of detailed specifications for a test control and simula tion computer. The complete facility is intended to consist of an anechoic chamber for high intensity RF testing of missiles and other similar vehicles over a wide frequency range, plus the ancilliary equipment such as RF sources, antennas, instrumentation, etc. re quired to make such testing' feasible. A hybrid compu ter system will be used in this facility to automate and control a variety of extensive test sequences. In addition, the computer will be capable of standard data storage, signal processing, and display functions, plus real time simulation of missile-target pursuit scenarios for evaluation of tracking performance capabilities. Anachoic chamber experiments will generally be related to evaluation of missile tracking efficiency and the effects of RF interference upon overall system perfor mance and effectiveness. The general characteristics of the test and computer system are considered in this paper.
