Data collection techniques using tests, observations, questionnaires and documentation. The results showed that students' critical thinking skills in learning using Discovery Oriented Thinking Squares were higher than learning using animated powerpoint media with the t test obtained a significance value of 0.002 <0.05. The average value of critical thinking skills in the experimental class 1 was 68.39 while the experimental class 2 was 59.08. So it can be concluded that the use of discovery-oriented Thinking Square media is more effective to improve critical thinking skills compared to animated powerpoint media.
