Abstract

The corridor concept entails the grouping of power, communications, pipelines, railroads, and highways in one overall right-of-way in order to minimize land usage. This grouping of utilities, while advantageous from a land usage point of view, raises strong technical problems of interference between the utilities. Certainly, the need for any utility corridor concept must assess issues such as land use, environmental, social, economic, aesthetic and legal factors.
