Abstract

Presents a multi-level cascaded inverter with on single DC power source and give a generalized modulation method in this paper. Simulation and experiment shown this cascaded inverter needs less numbers of full-bridge unit than conventional cascaded topology to get same output levels. This cascaded converter can save a number of switching devices and separated powers source. The step modulation method makes harmonic distortion of output voltage being less than conventional cascaded converterpsilas.
