The purpose of this study is to find out the perception, sports value and development constraints of college students and field-oriented experts who are participating in physical activities of action cheerleading, to seek the direction of development. For the purpose of the study, a qualitative study was conducted, and the subjects of the study were 10 student members and 10 field-oriented leaders with a lot of professional knowledge and activity experience among Korean university cheerleaders. As for the regions, nine regions were selected and proceeded: Gangwon, Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, Busan, Gyeongbuk, Jeonbuk, Chungbuk, and Chungnam. As for the sampling method, a semi-structured in-depth interview was conducted using purposeful sampling, which is a nonprobability sampling method. The semi-structured questions were modified and supplemented through a pilot test. The harmonized questions were revised and supplemented through a pilot test. The interview contents were transcribed and triangulated, and the results were derived by reading them several times and classifying common contents.BR The results of the study are as follows: First, the common perceptions of university students and experts were ‘enjoyable’, ‘exciting’, and ‘physical health’.
