This study is aimed at suggesting a physiological improvement method for exercise anemia by improving hemoglobin in the blood and oxygen transport capacity by improving lung function by combining aerobic exercise and respiratory muscle training for women with exercise anemia. The subjects of the study were 26 women of childbearing age who showed symptoms of exercise anemia, and only subjects who scored 12 g/dL or higher on the blood hemoglobin test and 2 points or higher on the VES-A test were selected to perform only aerobic exercise (Aerobics Exercise Group) and Respiratory muscle training groups were assigned to each group of 13 people. The results of the 10-week program are as follows.BR 1. Combination of respiratory muscle training effectively increases hemoglobin compared to single aerobic exercise.BR 2. Combination of respiratory muscle training effectively strengthens lung function compared to single aerobic exercise.BR 3. Combination of respiratory muscle training effectively improves symptoms of anemia compared to single aerobic exercise.BR Therefore, the combination of respiratory muscle training and aerobic exercise can be suggested as an effective exercise therapy to improve female exercise anemia rather than single aerobic exercise, and is considered suitable for increasing hemoglobin in the blood and strengthening lung function.

PURPOSE: In this study, we investigated the effect of 1,2,3,4,6-penta-O-galloyl-β-D-glucose (PGG) on cell differentiation and dexamethasone-induced muscle atrophy in mouse C2C12 myoblast.BR METHOD: C2C12 myoblasts were cultured with Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (DMEM), 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) and were differentiated to myotube cells using a differentiation medium containing 2% horse serum for 4 days. A muscle atrophy model was generated by treating with 1 μM dexamathasone for 18 h. We determined the cell viability, microscopy, western blot, and quantitative real-time PCR analysis.BR RESULTS: PGG had neither effect on cell viability of C2C12 myoblast at a concentration of 0-10 μM for 24 h nor protein and mRNA expression (Atrogin, Murf1, Myogenin, and MyHC).BR CONCLUSIONS: These data indicate that PGG has no effect on cell differentiation and dexamethasoneinduced atrophy using C2C12 cells. Further studies are required to determine the interaction of nutrition and exercise on skeletal muscle atrophy.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect on changes in phisical coordination after applying the Kin-ball program for 30 weeks to students with intellectual disabilities. The subjects of this study were eight intellectually disabled students at S Middle School in Y city of Gyeong gi province. It was conducted after obtaining consent from the subjects and their parents to participate in the study. The Kin-ball program was designed step-by-step with a frequency of exercise twice a week for a total of 30 weeks. To evaluate the physical coordination of the study subjects, the Korean version of the Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency was conducted, and static coordination, hand movement coordination, and general movement coordination tests were conducted among various test items. The physical coordination test was measured a total of 7 times at 5-week intervals. After the Kin-ball program was terminated, repeated measures ANOVA was conducted to analyze the difference in changes in physical coordination. The main results are as follows. Static coordination was found to increase significantly after 25 and 30 weeks compared to before, after 5 weeks, after 10 weeks, and after 15 weeks. Hand movement coordination showed a significant main effect (p.001), but a post-hoc analysis showed no significant difference. General coordination was found to increase significantly after 25 weeks and 30 weeks compared to before, after 10 weeks, after 15 weeks, and after 20 weeks. Changes in physical characteristics significantly increased height after 30 weeks compared to before(p.01). In summary, long-term application of the Kin-ball program to students with intellectual disabilities has a positive effect on physical coordination.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the static equilibrium through strengthening exercises of the lower extremity muscles according to the wearing of unstable shoes for six weeks. Thirty female students were included in this study, and they were randomly assigned to the normal shoes group and the unstable shoes group. All participants performed exercise programs such as squats and lunges three times a week for six months. To measure static equilibrium during pre/post tests, the participants performed single-leg stand and collected data on the total COP(center of pressure) path length, speed, area, ratio of Rambling to COP ratio and Trembling to COP ratio, and frequency, elasticity, and stiffness of tibialis anterior and gastrocnemius. The results indicated that there was an interaction between the normal shoes group and the unstable shoes group in terms of the total path length of COP(F=4.092, p=.049). The unstable shoes group decreased during the post-test than the pre-test(p=.010). Rambling and Trembling in the medial-lateral direction showed interactions(Rambling: F=3.858, p=.044, Trembling: F=3.066, p=.035). After training, the unstable shoes group decreased compared to the normal shoes group(Rambling: p=.040, Trembling: p=.008). Also, muscle stiffness of lateral gastrocnemius showed an interaction between the two shoes(F=15.545, p=.000). The stiffness of the unstable shoes group decreased more during the post-test than the pre-test(p=.020), unstable shoes group was decreased than normal shoes(p= .008). Therefore, it was found that there was a high effect on maintaining equilibrium when performing an exercise program to improve lower extremity muscle after wearing unstable shoes.

Thirty female students were included in this study, and they were randomly assigned to the normal shoes group and the unstable shoes group. All participants performed exercise programs such as squats and lunges three times a week for six months. To measure static equilibrium during pre/post tests, the participants performed single-leg stand and collected data on the total COP(center of pressure) path length, speed, area, ratio of Rambling to COP ratio and Trembling to COP ratio, and frequency, elasticity, and stiffness of tibialis anterior and gastrocnemius. The results indicated that there was an interaction between the normal shoes group and the unstable shoes group in terms of the total path length of COP(F=4.092, p=.049). The unstable shoes group decreased during the post-test than the pre-test(p=.010). Rambling and Trembling in the medial-lateral direction showed interactions(Rambling: F=3.858, p=.044, Trembling: F=3.066, p=.035). After training, the unstable shoes group decreased compared to the normal shoes group(Rambling: p=.040, Trembling: p=.008). Also, muscle stiffness of lateral gastrocnemius showed an interaction between the two shoes(F=15.545, p=.000). The stiffness of the unstable shoes group decreased more during the post-test than the pre-test(p=.020), unstable shoes group was decreased than normal shoes(p= .008). Therefore, it was found that there was a high effect on maintaining equilibrium when performing an exercise program to improve lower extremity muscle after wearing unstable shoes.","PeriodicalId":497986,"journal":{"name":"The Korean Society of Sports Science","volume":"56 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135979865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
