Objective To explore the clinical effect of bolster for self-replacement combined with percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP)in treatment of vertebral compression fractures.Methods From August 2006 to August 2007,26 cases of this kind of disease were replaced through bolster gradually,then unilateral transpedicular approach were performed under X-Ray fluoroscopic guidance,a total of 3~6.5mL bone cement was injected.Twenty-nine vertebroplasties were completed.All were follow-up for 1~12 months post-operation.Loss rate of vetebral body height,posterior salient angle,rectification rate of posterior salient angle,VAS Score,antalgica using score and locomotor activity score were observed on admission,pre-operatin,3 days,1 month,3 months and 6 months after operation.Results Bolster for self-replacement rebounded vetebral body height,rectificated posterior salient angle.PVP maintained and enhanced these effects,and significantly improve VAS Score,antalgica using score and locomotor activity score.Conclusion Bolster for self-replacement combined with PVP can rebound vetebral body height,raise curative effect,and,is a simple,safe,economic and effective therapeutic method.
