The Effect of Breed on Skin Leather Quality of Sudan Desert Sheep 品种对苏丹沙漠羊皮品质的影响

This study was carried out to estimate the effect of Sudan Desert sheep breed variations on skinleather quality. Five Sudan desert sheep breeds on an average age of 1-1.2 years were selected for the study. One hundred and fifty (150) pieces of fresh skins from five non-castrated male of Sudan desert breeds were collected from west Sudan (Kordofan state) and east Sudan (Gezira and Butana). The results showed that, Fresh skin weight, elongation, tensile strength , flexibility, cracking and tear load results were significantly affected   (P ≥ 0.05) by breed variations. Thickness findings were not significantly affected (P ≥ 0.05) by breed. Moisture, fat and chrome oxide contents findings were significantly affected (P ≥ 0.05) by breed. Whereas, Ash content values were not significantly affected (P ≥ 0.05) by breed variations.

The present study deals with the diversity and density of zooplankton of three fresh water bodies from the Satara district. The present work is carried out from June 2012 to June 2013. There are five major groups of zooplanktons namely rotifers > copepods >cladocearans>protozoan >ostracods. The study shows 66 species of zooplanktons where rotifers dominates all other groups.

Babesiosis in A Four Year Old Friesian–Sokoto Gudali Crossed Bull in Sokoto, Nigeria 尼日利亚索科托一头4岁弗里西亚-索科托古达利杂交公牛的巴贝斯虫病

Bovine babesiosis is a hemo-protozoan disease diagnosed in a four-year old heavily tick infested Friesian-SokotoGudalli crossed bull.  Clinical signs observed were pyrexia (rectal temperature of 40.8 o C), anaemia, anorexia, haemoglobinuria, dysuria, salivation and lacrimination. The bull was weak and could not graze. The thin blood smear was positive for both Babesiabigemina and B. bovis . The bull’s condition improved after the administration of the following drugs; diminazineaceturate 7.0 mg/kg, antipyrine 8.6 mg/kg I.M. and application of acaricide, Flumethrin ® on the body of the body of the animal. The management of the case was discussed in the paper.

Effects of inclusion of different levels of watermelon bug meal in broiler rations on feed intake, body weight changes and feed conversion ratio in North Kordofan, Sudan 苏丹北科尔多凡省肉鸡日粮中添加不同水平西瓜虫粕对采食量、体重变化和饲料系数的影响

This study wasconducted in El-Obeid, North Kordofan State, Sudan with the objective of evaluatingthe effects of inclusion of different levels of watermelon bug meal (WMBM) as asubstitute for sorghum grains in rations on broiler chick’s performance. Oneday old unsexed 200 broiler chicks with an average weight of 40g /bird wereused in an experiment designed as completely randomized design (CRD) with fivetreatments and four replicates. At the beginning of the experiment the chickswere fed a pre-starter ration for one week and then offered five rationsprepared using (WMBM) at 0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 percent. The rations were offeredtwice a day. Chicks were weighed weekly during the experimental period. Thecollected data were analyzed using analysis of variance. The results indicatedthat feed intake of broiler chicks increased significantly (P <0.05) withinclusion of WMBM. The chicks consumed 67, 89, 94, 97 and 97 g/day/bird whenthe WMBM constituted 0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 percent in the rations respectively.The final body weight followed the same trend where the groups weighed 1332.5,2130, 2100.6, 1922.5 and 1772.3 g for the birds that consumed rations of 0, 15,30, 45 and 60 percent (WMBM) respectively. Weight gains and feed conversionratio were also significantly (P <0.05) improved. It was concluded that WMBMcould replace sorghum grains as source of energy in broiler rations and it wasrecommended that more studies be carried out to investigate effects ofinclusion of the WMBM on weight of cuts and meat quality.

Effect of plant maturity stage on digestibility and distance walked for diet selection by goat at north Kordofan State, Sudan 苏丹北科尔多凡州植物成熟期对山羊消化率和日粮选择步行距离的影响

The main objective was to study grazing behavior of goats; diet selection, nutritive value, digestibility of range plant and body gained at flowering and seed setting stage at September and November 2010 respectively in El-khuwei locality (El Rosa). A completely randomized design was used (CRD). Sampling was done by two stage flowering and seed sating stage were selected diets and feed intake locating a 2000 x 2000 m plots. The average weights gains during the flowering and seed setting stage were 17 and 18.28kg respectively. Goats during the flowering stage was preference on bite counts of the different species, however highly (P < 0.0001) at the flowering and least during the seed setting stage. Goat preference ranked Bano (Eragrostis tremula) , Huskneet ( Cenchrus biflorus) , Difra ( Echinocloa colonum) , leflef ( Luffa aegyptiaca) , Gaw ( Aristida spp. ) , Fisiya ( Fimbristyls hispidula) , Himeira (Hymenocardia acida) , Nuida ( Sida cordofolia) , Tmrfar ( Oldenlandia senegalensis) and Aboelrakhus ( Andropogon gayanus ) , while Gadgad ( Geigeria alata) , Buid ( Commelinia subulata) , Simeima ( Sesamum alatum) , Abodaib ( Ceraotheca sesamoid) and Rabaa ( Zalea spp) least than that. A significant higher (P < 0.001) goats selective feed intake, in vitro dry matter digestibility, dry matter, organic matter and crude protein higher at flowering stage and lowers during the seed setting stage. However; ash contents and crude fiber of plants were significantly higher at the seed setting stage. Body weight gain was significantly highest during the flowering stage, while the distance walked by goats for diet search was significantly longest during the seed setting stage. It was concluded that flowering stage beneficially goats highly preference and selectivity different species, feed intake and inviter dry matter digestibility and body weight gained. The seed setting stage was highly ash contents, crude fiber distant walked Availability, palatability, selectivity, digestibility, distant walked and body weight gains.
