How Strategic Planning Can Help Us Get Through the Present World Crisis 战略规划如何帮助我们度过当前的世界危机

In times of crisis problem solving methodologies seem to gain attention over strategic planning. This article makes the case that more rather than less strategic planning is needed to get through the current world crisis. Based on best practices of Shell using scenarios to prepare and steer through the 1973 first oil crisis and Rabobank who used scenarios in 2003 to plan for the 2007 credit crisis.

Catastrophic Risk: A Research Object in Management 灾难性风险:管理中的一个研究对象

If catastrophe seems to be, for many authors, the matrix of modern times, it is relatively absent from managerial concerns. The approach of catastrophic risk management seems to suffer from a rigid dominant definition of risk and oscillate in a movement between omission and overstatement. This article aims to examine the heuristic potential of catastrophe in management by offering a few prospects for research and practice.
