What Drives the Termination of Bidder CEOs Following Mergers? 并购后ceo离职的动因是什么?

This study examines the effect of CEOs’ behavior (overconfidence/less overconfidence), merger period (in-wave/non-wave), method of payment (stock/cash), industry of merged firm (across-industry/within-industry), premium paid to target firm, and operating performance on the likelihood of a CEO turnover amongst bidding firms. Testing the US successful merger and acquisition data for the period of the 1990s, this study finds that the effect of merger waves and the method of payment on CEO turnover are positive and significant. Three measures of CEO behavior proposed and tested in this study, however, generally have insignificant effect on CEO turnover.

Measuring Player's Perceptions of Mobile Games from Gameplay Data -- A Case Study from Mobile Game Offerings from Playlab 通过玩法数据衡量玩家对手机游戏的看法——以Playlab的手机游戏产品为例

In measuring player’s perception of computer games, there are many approaches that could be utilized. The usage of questionnaires, player observation, abstract models, and other approaches have been utilized over the years in this problem domain. Though the traditional approaches have been used quite effectively, there is room for improvement. Due to better Internet infrastructure, many players are online which allows game developers to develop games that can collect gameplay data. With this gameplay data, it is possible to analyze the gameplay data for patterns that could measure the players’ perception of the game. Using gameplay data can help remove certain bias that are present in traditional approaches in the measurement of player’s perception. In this paper, a number of data analytics that is used to measure players’ perception from game play data that is used in mobile games from Playlab, a leading casual game developer and publisher, is described.

The Intra-Industrial and Inter-Industrial Trade of Cuba after the Collapse of the Soviet Union and the Re-establishment of Diplomatic Relations with the United States of America 苏联解体和与美利坚合众国重建外交关系后古巴的工业内和工业间贸易

This paper analyses the characteristics of the foreign trade of Cuba with its most important trade partners, from the so-called Special Period which was the result of the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. The absence of the Soviet bloc presented Cuba the necessity of structural changes in its economy and foreign trade. Trade between Cuba and its trade partners is a center-periphery type, where during the last time China outstands, as exporting center of manufactured goods and Cuba as supplier of raw materials. The economic embargo of United States to Cuba has limited the foreign trade, but lately United States has become a good supplier of Cuba, whereas Cuba has exported mostly art pieces and antiquities. Russia, once upon the most important trade partner, has now the same condition as China, as exporter to Cuba of manufactured goods and machinery, and Cuba as supplier of raw materials.
