Actual processing of neighbourhoods’ transformation inside of the city is segregation by economic status. Since 2017, the new Baku’s districts for rich peoples are emerging, generally with the territory physically limited by high fence. Thereafter evidently, there is a growing process of dissatisfaction around middle and creative class of people. Most people can agree that cities are places where large numbers of people live and work; there are hubs of administration, commerce and residence. Livability refers to the subset of sustainability impacts that directly affect people in a community, such as economic development, affordability, public health, social equity and pollution exposure. The study of social environment (SE) and sustainability in residential neighborhoods (RN) of Baku City was undertaken as expertise for the Baku Masterplan 2020-2040 elaborated in frame of request form the Azerbaijan State Committee of Architecture and Urban planning. The aim of the study was to review the current stage of developing of master plan and its strategy to support or direct towards aspiration to be sustainable residential neighborhoods, through enhancing QoL. Another purpose was to explore the impact of social environment, culture energy conservation on QoL happiness of Baku’s residents. Despite the obvious diversity of residential areas, the presented research has tried to collect the recommendations in term of leadership to social housing and urban dissemination of new sustainable models. The information evaluated during the work under the Baku Strategic Planning Process assists to determine existing tendencies of urban development and explore of re-generable solution.

This exploratory discourse is on labour unrest and industrial peace. It was necessitated by the damage done to the nation’s economy by industrial unrest and the urgent need to address the phenomenon. The nation is confronted with a spill-over of bad governance and financial illiteracy in the public sector. The conflict between government and its workers often revolves around inability to pay salaries and fund institutions. A situation where those who teach the future generations are deprived of their living wages; and, political office holders and employers earn in millions officially and unofficially, and teachers earning pittance should be addressed. It is the collective responsibilities of employers and employees to seek to maintain a peaceful and harmonious relationship for improved productivity so as to sustain the nation’s economic growth.

Wittgenstein’s idea of “language games” is generalized to “schema games” and - according to the author’s methodological scheme interpretationism - be thus applied to a universal epistemological approach. That will also integrate extant natural science and neuroscience results and hypotheses as well as meta-theoretically transcend the terminologically all too narrow “lingualistic” interpretations of representation, cognition and action.

For decades, reflective practices for professionals and students have been recommended by scholars. It is not clear, however, whether significant attention has been focused to understand if an inherent tendency towards the practice of reflection is demonstrated by students. A study was conducted to determine whether students demonstrate a propensity towards reflection, and if a tendency is identified, how that strategy is expressed. Further, utilizing the Human Dynamics model of Seagal and Horne, an attempt is made to determine whether particular dynamics exploit different reflective strategies.

A case study on the role of extrinsic factors (hygiene factors) and socio-demographic factors in determining morale and job satisfaction among teachers in public secondary schools in Tanzania was undertaken. Biographical variables pertaining to teachers’ age, sex, marital status and work experience were investigated to determine whether they had any significant contribution on the level of morale and job satisfaction experienced. Morale and job satisfaction has been perceived differently by different researchers in the field of human resource and management. The study employed mixed methods of data collection including the use of instruments such as an interview guide, questionnaires and documentary review checklist. The study found that job satisfaction among teachers in public secondary schools northern Tanzania was not homogeneous; socio-economic and demographic factors had a great contribution on varying morale and job satisfaction levels. For example, female teachers’ job satisfaction was statistically significant (t(84) =2.62, p = 0.04), so was the job satisfaction of young teachers (bellow 40 years) (t(84) = -2.22, p = 0.01). However, age and working experience had a great contribution towards teachers’ job satisfaction and dissatisfaction. The study concludes that the socio-economic and demographic factors have potential strength in designing and sustaining job satisfaction model which accounts for morale and job satisfaction challenges among teachers in public secondary schools in Tanzania. The motivators and hygiene factors were confirmed to have great contribution on job satisfaction among teachers in public secondary schools in Tanzania.

This chapter postulates the need to include Edgar Morin's philosophical principles of complexity as complements to the musicological panoply of analyses and interpretations coming from musical semiology and musicology. In this way, a new critical approach can be given to such analyses, adopting a polysemic attitude that suits better than the current one to convey the full richness of the musical phenomenon, especially in terms of its fluidity and dynamics. The first part of the article attempts to determine the limits of Jean-Jacques Nattiez's musical semiology, as well as the analyses derived from it. We will look closely at the notion of musical work examining the components of its complexity, which prevents a reductive operation between the score and the work. The second part of the chapter deals with the reconstruction of musical works, proposed on the basis of Musical Heuristics, giving way to an "embodied" knowledge of the reference pieces and thus complementing the analyses derived from musical semiology. As conclusion, my paper attempts a musicological application of the three underlying principles of the philosophy of complexity.

This research explores the job attribute preferences of the Generation Y professionals in Bangladesh. Unlike most past researches that deployed isolated estimation methods, this research used conjoint analysis, a marketing research tool to measures the relative utilities and trade-off matrices of different job attributes. Data was collected from 140 executive MBA students from a premier business school in Dhaka using a questionnaire presenting an array of hypothetical job offers (HJO). Salary & benefit and person-job match are found to be the top two most preferred job attributes. Work environment and company- reputation are indicated as the two least important job attributes. Simulation was run to demonstrate the trade-offs people make in their job choice decisions. Case-wise conjoint results show no significant difference among different demographic groups (e.g. married-single, have-don’t have dependents and others) in terms of the order of importance of the job attributes. However, the value of the relative importance was found to be slightly different for different demographic groups. This research is important for academics as it demonstrate a new technique to analyze job attribute preferences. Managers can use the results of this study for designing jobs to attract and retain the best talents of the market. They can use the simulation process demonstrated here for optimizing overall preference of their job offers.
