interpretation of Legal norms lays in God’s mercy, which exceeds by far the legalism of the Law, because it is love that becomes the foundation of “a greater justice.”

. On the basis of the angelology motif, the article presents a possible solution to the problem – allegorical way of interpretation. According to the analyses there were two reasons for the angel motif used in the Ethiopic Book of Enoch. The first was the need to recall God’s features, hence keeping His transcendence. The second was the intention of making the reflection about the mankind: its earthly condition as well as its eschatological future – salvation or damnation.

(Lev 5:7). In the Old Testament the dove and the turtledove are also utilized as a poetically symbol of purity, gentleness and grace (e.g. Cant 1:15; Ps 68:13; Ps 55:6). Taking all of these symbolism of the dove from Old Testament stories and teachings, for the Spirit to descend upon Jesus in the form of a dove at His baptism was not only public display of Christ’s divinity, a confirmation of His anointing and also showing a connection between His ministry and previous symbols of the dove (Matt 3:16, Mark 1:10, Luke 3:22, John 1:32). Jesus would fulfill much of the earlier symbolism of the dove in the Holy Scripture because He is: the Prince of Peace (Is 9:6), the promise of new life (2 Cor 5:17), the pure and perfect sacrifice for sin (Heb 10:14-24). The dove therefore symbolizes the Holy Spirit, the fulfillment of Scripture through the life and ministry of Jesus, and the peace, purity and propitiation for sin.

The aim of this article is to attempt to recognize potential possibilities and limitations of the intertextual analysis in the biblical studies presented in a selected literature. Firstly, the intertextuality is shown as a literary phenomenon. Then, examples of using such method in biblical studies are presented. The article presents also some perplexities connected to the use of the intertextual analysis in the study of Holy Scriptures. The article is an encouragement for contemporary biblical studies to make efforts and use modern achievements of literary studies in the research of the Bible.

Podstawę naszych rozważań stanowić będzie Pierwszy List do Koryntian. Zanim jednak przejdziemy bezpośrednio do treści listu, uzasadnimy tytuł artykułu (1).

W ten sposób Jezus potwierdzał i uwiarygodniał swoją misję.
