Different Roles of Teachers in the ELT Classroom 教师在英语教学中的不同角色

This article explores the expected roles of language teachers in an ever-shifting English language teaching scenario. It introduces the traditional roles of language teachers and goes on to discover new roles evolved because of the new theories and innovations in this field. While analysing and interpreting, I reviewed the related literature on the concerned topic to review the roles of English language teachers in the language classroom. After the systematic thematic review of the literature, I, as part of the findings, concluded that the language teachers’ roles are always evolving and bend towards consenting autonomy to the learners for providing them more control over their own learning. The roles assumed by the teachers are that of a facilitator, an assessor, a manager, a guide, a resource provider, a digital enthusiast, a cultural diplomat, and many others. A language teacher should be smart and flexible enough to morph into various roles as per the context and needs of the teaching-learning situation in the classroom. There is a continual need of exploring more plausible roles which can expedite language learning in more systematic and organized yet effective ways.

Social Inequalities in ELT Classroom and Challenges on Teachers 英语课堂中的社会不平等及其对教师的挑战

This paper analyzes the policies and pedagogies related to English language teacher education (ELTE) in Nepal. Similarly, this study also addresses issues of social equalities and inequalities associated to ELT, Challenges that English language teachers are facing due to these social inequalities in the classroom, and the role and action that teachers can perform to mitigate these inequalities. From the review of different sources, it was found out that there exist various forms of social inequities in the English language teaching (ELT) classroom which have created several challenges for teachers in the classroom. Moreover, this study suggests that although avoiding social inequalities is tough work, the teachers can perform several actions and avoid social inequalities if they really show their commitment to solve the issue and take action accordingly.

An Analysis of Caste Discrimination and Untouchability in R.B. Nischal's Poem Paitālā Pukār 2 R.B.尼沙尔诗歌中的种姓歧视与贱民现象分析Paitālā Pukār

This paper examines the socio-cultural issues of Dalits. The objective of the study was to analyze caste discrimination and untouchability of Dalits. For this objective, the researcher has employed Stuart Hall's theoretical insights of representation under cultural studies. The poem was selected purposively and it was the library based qualitative research. The data were collected from record-keeping and description. The researcher found that Dalit community that has suffered from the time immemorial in every aspect due to generational, multi-faceted and institutionalized discrimination due to the Hindu caste system in Nepal for religious and political reasons. This unfair practice has left a clear mark of social division, exclusion and inequality which has severely ruined Dalits' life and identity. Addressing this issue in the poem Paital Puk r Ram Bahadur Kami, displays episodes of verbal and physical violence and recurrent intra-caste discrimination. As well as he depicts the traumatic existence of the Dalit oppressed community. Other dominations and discriminations are less traumatic in comparison of cultural trauma which is like an incurable disease. Therefore, this paper displays how the Dalit people have been living in a society bearing harsh torture, trauma and inhuman treatment. Moreover, it is significant for academia for representing diverse cultural experiences and people and it can be a valuable asset for the society.

Connecting Action Research in English Language Teaching: A Postulation 衔接行动研究在英语教学中的运用:一种设想

The paper entitled 'Connecting Action Research in English Language Teaching: A Postulation' aims to explore the theoretical aspects of action research by linking the idea with a particular context where the English language is being taught as a foreign language. It was written by collecting related documents from the library and online sources specifically. The resources were sorted out to make them relevant to the selected issue. Specifically, the books and generally, some articles were reviewed mainly for the literature and made a list thematically. Then, they were analyzed, interpreted, and connected to the topic. It was concluded that the area of action research is broad and many action kinds of research are being done cyclically in social science. As it is a buzz word in the field of education, particularly in English as a foreign language teaching, the practitioners are requested to connect the action research for the purpose of improving the teaching-learning as well as professional development in this nonnative English situation.

CLT and Task-Based Instruction for Effective Learning CLT与任务型教学促进有效学习

The goal of Communicative Language Teaching is to develop fluency in language use. It emerged for better interaction like native speakers. Significantly, using the CLT approach increases communicative competence which is more reliable in language teaching. CLT is a broad approach to teaching that resulted from a focus on communication as the organizing principle for teaching. It helps language teachers achieve maximum learning among the learners rather than focus on mastery of the grammatical system of the languages. Task Based Instruction focuses on classroom activities involving two or more learners using communication strategies and interactional skills.

Exploring Feminism on Ghãtu Cultural Site 探讨格<s:1>图文化遗址中的女权主义

This paper analyzes Ghãtu cultural site from a feminist approach. Ghãtu cultural site has been studied mostly from the anthropological point of view but it has not been studied from this approach. The study explores feminism on this site to make the readers aware of female identity and gender equality by teaching feminism in EFL classes because society is not free from the grip of male domination. The pedagogical implications are to make the students or the new generation aware of gender discrimination. Most females think that their misfortune victimizes them but this paper attempts to prove that it is not. This paper suggests that misfortune should be changed into good fortune. According to the theory of feminism, the female voice should be addressed. Ghãtu cite is a burning example of extreme male domination. The sati system, immolation, compels queen Yemphawati, to jump into the burning pyre of her husband. The findings of the study show that society has been knowingly or unknowingly dominating and using females yet. This essay protests the conservative thought of a patriarchal society. Still, some males are guided by such a poor mentality and they want to dominate females. The study is about maintaining the balance between male-female so that a win-win game will be there. The trend of othering never results positively. And this paper forwards these questions. Why do males treat females as commodities in Ghãtu? What are the main reasons of the over-domination of females? Are females weaker than males?
