Spatial decorrelation of VHF and UHF trans-ionospheric signals measured at Ascension Island 阿森松岛VHF和UHF跨电离层信号的空间去相关分析

The effect of spatial decorrelation of signals of space-based synthetic-aperture radars by equatorial ionospheric turbulence, is studied by monitoring 150 and 400 MHz signals from LEO beacon satellites on an array of spaced antennas located on Ascension Island, and analysing the cross-correlations of the phases of the received signals. The special property of this approach is that it does not convolve the spatial fluctuations with the movement of the satellite. The geometrical component of the phase difference between antennas is accurately removed by adjusting the satellite position using the measured phases. As expected, the phase of VHF signals is much more affected by scintillation than the UHF phase. In the example given, the spatial correlation over 130 m falls to zero at VHF and 0.55 at UHF. Correlations over longer distances have been determined using a novel dasiaphase reconstructionpsila technique. In the absence of scintillation the decorrelation distance is ~10 km for both frequencies. With increasing scintillation, the decorrelation distance decreases to around 100 m at VHF and 300 m at UHF.

In this paper, the latest developments concerning the design of the unit cell of one adjustable High Impedance Surface (HIS) using varactor diodes are presented. The HIS obtained with this new unit cell is used in the design of a centred reflectarray antenna able to generate various types of radiation pattern beam (focalised, scanned, shaped…).

Wideband physical channel model for indoor static mobile terminals 室内静态移动终端宽带物理信道模型

More customers are now communicating via cellular phones in indoor environments. In this situation, the mobile terminals frequently remain static while being used. In static usage, the mobile terminal itself doesn't move, but the environment around it changes, due to the movement of people for example. In order to evaluate the QoS of such mobile terminals, a channel model that can take account of stationary usage is required. This paper proposes a novel wideband physical channel model for static mobile terminals used in indoor environments.

U-slot microstrip patch antennas were originally developed for bandwidth broadening applications. Recently, it was found that the U-slot technique can also enable the patch antenna to perform other functions, including: dual-band and tri-band operations, as well as for circular polarization applications. The versatility of U-slot patch antennas will be discussed in this paper.

This paper presents a MIMO channel measurement for indoor environment. The results present the comparison of channel capacity by using beamforming technique in MIMO systems. Also, polarization diversities (vertical and horizontal) are introduced to reduce multipath fading issues. The measurements were conducted at 2.4GHz with Line of Sight (LOS) scenario.

Various types of planar folded dipole antenna with a feed line are introduced and analyzed theoretically and experimentally. By adjusting the length of the feed line, the antennas have broadband characteristics. The downsizing of the antenna including a feed line is studied and its characteristics are also analyzed.

Presented paper is devoted to theoretical modeling and experimental investigation of transferring of initial phase of low frequency oscillations with modulation of carrier oscillations in separate high frequency link from one part of testing link to another. The main goal of this investigation is the determination of influence of phase stability and amplitude one of separate high frequency link on the phase stability of low frequency oscillations in a point of reception. The results of experimental investigation of the reference oscillator's synchronization channel are represented in the paper.

This work highlights some of the results of a cooperation between TNO and SRON (Space Research Organization Netherlands) which is now going on with renewed efforts since almost two years. A novel strategy for broad band focal plane array design is proposed. Its purpose is to couple the radiation from a Large F/D reflector system to an array of Kinetic Inductance detectors that are being investigated at SRON to be used in Space science missions such as SPICA [1]. To maximize the benefits from using their BW properties one idea is to use Leaky Lens based array elements, as imaging pixels, however other possibilities are also envisaged.
