Endocrine disrupting compounds (EDC) possess xenobiotic and exogenous roots which limits the natural functioning of the endocrine system like synthesis, secretion, transference and binding in animals and human being. Humans, animals and industries discharges EDC to soil, surface/ground water and sediments mostly through sewage treatment system. Studies have shown the impact of EDC on nervous system, lungs, liver, thyroid, prostate, reproductive system, metabolism, obesity etc. So removal of these compounds by suitable processes is necessary. Conventional techniques like coagulation, precipitation, flocculation, microfiltration, ultrafiltration etc. are not are not that much effective for the removal of EDC having low molecular weight and are also limited by the pore sizes. The current study emphases on the use of techniques like Emulsion liquid membrane and Hollow fiber supported liquid membrane which are the promising techniques for the removal of EDC from aqueous streams. The working and implementation of these two techniques in the removal of several EDC from aqueous streams are also discussed.

Over the years, pesticides have been accumulated, particularly in the ecosystem of the developing countries. Most of them are with the expiate date of use though constitutes and are a serious threat with its toxic impact on the human health and environment. Besides, the stockpiles of obsolete pesticides are stored in the open air or in inappropriate storage conditions. Containers are often inadequate and leaking or corroded, though contaminated the drinking water sources and irrigation schemes. There are various methods for adequate disposal of obsolete pesticides but are generally costly and require expert knowledge. The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations (UN) is implementing a Programme on Prevention and Disposal of Obsolete in ecosystem of the developing countries to provide them with the adequate tools to sound management of pesticides. The management of pesticides in developing countries need to be improved trough an effective control over the agricultural and public health pesticides, their application in agriculture and public health, the disposal of obsolete stocks and empty pesticide containers, storage facilities, public information, environmental protection, regulation and its enforcement. The present study provides an overview of the disposal of obsolete pesticides in the ecosystem of the developing countries and means of prevention its accumulation in order to decrease their toxic impact on the human health.Keywords: toxic impact, human health condition, pesticides, ecosystem.
多年来,农药积累了,特别是在发展中国家的生态系统中。它们大多具有使用期限,但对人体健康和环境的毒性影响构成并构成严重威胁。此外,库存的过期除害剂储存在露天或不适当的储存条件下。容器往往不足,漏水或腐蚀,尽管污染了饮用水源和灌溉系统。有各种方法可以妥善处理废弃的农药,但通常都很昂贵,而且需要专业知识。联合国粮食及农业组织(粮农组织)正在实施一项发展中国家生态系统中过期农药预防和处置计划,为发展中国家提供适当的工具来完善农药管理。发展中国家的农药管理需要通过有效控制农业和公共卫生农药、其在农业和公共卫生中的应用、废弃库存和空农药容器的处置、储存设施、公共信息、环境保护、法规和执法来改进。本研究概述了发展中国家生态系统中废弃农药的处置情况和预防其积累的方法,以减少其对人类健康的毒性影响。关键词:毒性影响;人体健康状况;农药;

In recent years pollution and global warming have increased rapidly. Air and sound pollution is more in urban areas as compared to rural areas due to denser vehicular traffic and rapid industrialization. Air pollution causes long term health effects like lung cancer and heart diseases, and also it causes short term health issues such as headaches, eye infections and throat infection. Air pollution increases the temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere which results in global warming. Hence it is necessary to monitor the various climate and pollution parameters such as temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, sound, toxic content of hazardous gases, and light intensity. As we need to know the location of the data, we also normally measure the latitude and longitude of the place. In this paper, a pollution and climate monitoring system is developed which can measure the above parameters at regular intervals using appropriate sensors and uploads them on to the webpage using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The webpage is developed using HTML and PHP. Raspberry Pi3 computer is the central component used for data collection from the sensors and uploading parameters on to the webpage. Python language is used development of the software code. The uploaded pollution and climate parameters of a particular place can be viewed by logging on to the webpage from anywhere in the world.

Using yearly nitrogen dioxide pollution measures in parts per billion for 179 countries during 1979 to 2011, this research examines whether the convergence process of catch-ups has taken place among countries in both total as well as in multiple subgroups of countries. All four income subgroups and six regional subgroups displayed their convergence of catch-ups in support of the catch-up process displayed by the total group. The most important finding is that the subgroups with lower NO2 pollution levels did display three to five times faster speed of catch-ups in comparison to the subgroups with higher NO2 pollution. Policy Implications to these findings will be discussed.
