This study is conducted because the author finds out that most of his students have a low reading ability and motivation in learning Narrative text. This study aims to improve students’ motivation and reading ability in learning Narrative text by applying the Problem-based Learning model in the 9C grade student s of SMP N 1 Watukumpul. Data collection techniques used were observation, and testing. Data analysis techniques used comparative descriptive techniques and critical analysis. The conclusions of this study were Problem-based Learning can improve students’ learning motivation and their reading ability in learning narrative text. The average score of motivation obtained in the first cycle of action amounted to 59,25 and 76,125 in the second cycle. While the average of student reading ability in learning narrative text in pre-action amounted to 58, in the first cycle amounted to 68 and 79 in the second cycle. From the average score of students’ motivation and students’ reading ability, it can be concluded that Problem-based Learning can improve students’ motivation and reading ability in learning Narrative text.

This research is motivated by the interest in learning of SMK Taman Karya Madya Pertambangan Kebumen students which are classified as low criteria with an average of 37.5%. Meanwhile, students' mathematics learning outcomes are also still unsatisfactory, with no students who complete with an average score of 58.33. Based on the problems above with Power Point (PPT) media. in increasing interest and learning outcomes of mathematics in linear program material for students of Class X SMK Taman Karya Madya Pertambangan Kebumen. 12 children as subjects and carried. Showed that interest in learning increased from the pre-cycle results from the low category with an average of 37.5% to the medium category with an average of 63.02%. Furthermore, in the implementation in cycle 2, interest in learning again increased to the high category with an average of an average of 77.60%. Likewise, the percentage of students who completed the learning outcomes test increased from the pre-cycle results to an average of 58.33 to 73.75 and in the second cycle increased to 80.83. Likewise, the percentage of students who completed the mathematics learning outcomes test increased to 83.33%.

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to increase students' interest and learning outcomes in mathematics at SMK Bhakti Praja Margasari by applying problem-based learning (PBL) techniques. This research uses problem-based learning about story questions that other researchers have rarely done before. This research was conducted by adapting the Kemmis and McTaggart model into four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and consideration. A total of 32 students of class XAKL 1 SMK Bhakti Praja Margasai were used as the subjects of this study. Three tools were used to collect data: a questionnaire, an observation sheet, and a test. Learning outcomes data were analyzed quantitatively, while interest and practice data were analyzed qualitatively. The analysis showed that the students' interest in mathematics and their learning outcomes increased from the initial state. At the end of the second cycle, the PBL learning method met the objectives/ criteria for success. This means that 75% of students have reached the KKM. Students' interest in learning also meets the goals/criteria for indicators of success. This means that 78.13% of students are interested in learning in the "very high" category and 18.75% of students are interested in learning in the "high" category. Some conclusions from this CAR are: First, after a two-action cycle, the PBL method was proven to increase interest in learning and learning outcomes for students of class X AKLI 1 SMK Bhakti Praja Margasari. Second, the growth of student interest in learning is appreciated by the active role of students through the use of PBL. Third, presenting mathematical problems through narrative questions that are close to the context of students' daily lives, thus facilitating understanding of abstract mathematical concepts and increasing not only student interest but also learning outcomes. Fourth, the success of PBL implementation is highly dependent on the consistency of the teacher acting as a facilitator. The results of this study provide empirical evidence about the importance of planning, monitoring, and improving CAR-based learning.

Student learning outcomes about the material for writing fantasy story texts have not reached minimal learning mastery because of the lack of student activity in learning. The purpose of this study was to increase the activeness and learning outcomes of students in learning to write fantasy story texts. The form of this research is classroom action research. The research subjects were students of class VIIG of SMP Negeri 4 Sragen. Research through the assessment process based on CAR which includes four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Based on the results of the action data analysis, it can be concluded that the application of strip story media is able to improve the ability to write fantasy story texts for class VIIG students of SMP Negeri 4 Sragen in the 2020/2021 academic year. Improved learning outcomes of writing fantasy story texts, students who scored above the KBM in the initial conditions were 35,72% of students, increased to 67,68% in cycle 1, and in cycle 2 increased to 82,14%. The active learning of students with certain indicators also increases. From the initial condition 40,72% to 60,71% in cycle 1, and in cycle 2 increased to 81,43%. The indicators are: active students to ask questions, express opinions, answer questions, do assignments, and present learning outcomes.
