Th e military condemnations of Colombian Army o ffi cers have had di ff erent nuances, given the complexity of some cases; so this topic becomes an element of internal re fl ection to recognize the experience and the e ff ects of these processes. In this sense, some cases of military convictions are recounted, describing their main e ff ects. Th e present chapter at no time intends to carry out a legal analysis of the cases, but to present in a descriptive manner the main e ff ects, especially at the social level and the place of the Military Sciences in this study. Th is chapter is associated to a degree work of the Faculty of Military Sciences.

This document compiles the contribution of the lessons learned as a result of two of the most important military operations carried out by military units with great experience in combat -in the context of the armed conflict-, for the training and instruction of the officers of the National Army. This chapter responds to the approach formulated between military education and institutional history, evidenced in the operational component, which projects the understanding of the military being, the adoption of strategies and tactics for the fulfillment of the constitutional mission. Similarly, this learning also aims to provide important elements to avoid legal problems to the members of the force.
