The sweeping industry is utilizing a new technology for tracking performance, location and time spent on a job -- Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Because sweeping is generally a nighttime activity that is done at numerous locations, it can be difficult to document with any accuracy. A GPS unit can automatically and accurately detect a sweeper's destination, time spent at a job, and the stops and starts that take place during a single shift.
