A blind Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) estimator based on the modified Projection Approximation Subspace Tracking deflation (PASTd) algorithm is proposed in this paper for Intermediate Frequency (IF) signals in the complex additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. Compared with the eigenvalue decomposition (ED)-based method, the proposed algorithm can achieve a more accurate estimation with a simple computational complexity. Simulations are performed for the commonly used IF signals. The results show that the performance of the algorithm is robust and when the true SNR is in the range from 5dB to 25dB the estimation bias is under 1dB and the corresponding standard deviation (STD) is within 0.3.

In this paper, we present an efficient key management scheme for resource limited sensor networks. Motivated by the fact that group key distribution from remote base station is costly in term of communication, we introduce the scheme of locally group key management scheme with revocation and self-healing capability for sensor network. The idea behind the scheme is use secret sharing to distribute group key and manage group member as well as group header.

Educational Software is one of the pillars of distance learning and educational systems and has become the basic tool for future generations of students. However, recent methodologies used in this development have too many problems: a lack of common theoretical frameworks which can be used by anyone in the project, and excessive formality in both technical and pedagogical factors. Activities employed in the development of educational software are complex because the process depends on the developer's expertise, aspects of software engineering, and the acquisition and implementation of pedagogical knowledge. We propose the introduction of "effective practices " within an alternative methodology to develop this kind of software. The identification of effective practices is focused internally to ensure the effective realization of the development process, and externally to guide the pedagogical monitoring of a project. Our effective practices provide the basis of an alternative methodology for the development of educational software under rigorous conditions that enable us to achieve a highly successful and repeatable process in the field of electronic instrumentation.

In this paper, we propose an extension of two dimensions (2D) code cardinality for slightly same performance (BER). The code is developed for optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) system, it is generated by: hyperbolic code for the Time Spreading and merged M-sequences for the Frequency-Hopping. In this work, we consider the Optical Fast Frequency Hopping technique OFFH-CDMA as an access technique. For the families codes we, apply the constraint of cross-correlation which is equal to one in order to decrease the Multiple Access Interference (MAI). The frequency spacing is selected according to WDM standardization. Optical delay lines and Fiber-Bragg gratings (FBG) are the main elements constituting the encoder/decoder utilized to generate/decode the code words. With the proposed code, we increase the cardinality of our system toP(P-1)2 users instead of P2 users in comparison with Prime code for the same transmission rate (the same code length). Furthermore, with two code weights, two qualities of services (QoS) are proposed and tested rather than one.
