Three-dimensional measurement of bubble in gas-liquid flow by light field photography 光场摄影在气液流中气泡的三维测量

A three-dimensional measurement method for bubble parameters in gas-liquid two-phase flow was proposed based on the light field photography for solving the problem that bubble parameters could only be measured in two-dimensional problems using conventional photography. The light field camera recorded the light field information of the gas-liquid two-phase flow, and then the total focus image and the refocused images of the bubbles in the two-phase flow field were obtained using a computational imaging technique. The image processing was performed by binarizing the total focus image to obtain the projection of bubbles in the depth direction and evaluating the sharpness of refocused images to obtain the depth of bubbles. Based on the bubble projection and depth information, the three-dimensional reconstruction of the bubbles was achieved, and the parameters, such as size distribution, spatial position and gas void fraction of bubbles were further calculated. The calibration and the experiment were made to evaluate the proposed method. Experimental results show that the cross-sectional void fraction in the depth direction is in agreement with the bubble depth distribution and oscillates periodically in the vertical direction. With the increase of gas flow rates from 0.5 L/min to 1.1 L/min, the amount of bubbles increases from 28 to 72; the average diameter of bubbles maintains about 1.56 mm before the gas flow rate reaches 0.9 L/min, after increasing sharply; the gas volume fraction rises approximately linearly, and the bubble depth interval increases gradually. The three-dimensional reconstruction results of bubbles are in good agreement with the law of bubble formation and distribution, thus verifying the feasibility of the proposed method.

A preliminary sustainability assessment of innovative rainwater harvesting for residential properties in the UK 英国住宅物业创新雨水收集的初步可持续性评估

Rainwater harvesting (RWH) has yet to see significant uptake in UK households, primarily due to a lack of innovation in residential RWH system types. This paper presents the results of preliminary investigations into a range of traditional and innovative residential-scale RWH systems. These systems are examined using a patent application search, informal interviews with industry professionals, cost-benefit analysis and a simple multi criteria analysis (MCA). The latter examines the sustainability of the systems, based on a priori social, economic and environmental criteria. Two of the innovative systems are subject to a more detailed analysis and benchmarked against a traditional system. Results of the MCA indicate that the innovative RWH systems achieve better sustainability scores than the traditional RWH with a lower capital cost. Further research is focused on monitoring the identified systems to generate empirical datasets, in order to undertake the WLC/LCAs and to identify challenges associated with installation. © Copyright.

Objective: To investigate the expression of HIF-1α and explore the relationship between expression of HIF-1α and apoptosis related genes P53,Bcl-2 in hypoxia ischemia brain damage in neonatal rats.Methods: Postnatal day 7 SD rats were divided into three groups: sham group,the hypoxia group and the hypoxia-ischemia group.Rats′ brain tissue were collected at 3,6,12,24,72 h after hypoxia or hypoxia-ischemia from each group.The histopathological damage was detected by HE staining.Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of HIF-1 α,P53 and Bcl-2.Results: HE staining showed that neuronal degeneration and edema became prominent at 24 h in both hypoxia group and hypoxia-ischemia group.The expression of HIF-1 α protein was significantly upregulated at 3 h,peak at 12 h,and then decreased in both hypoxia and hypoxia-ischemia group.The expression of P53 protein was upregulated at 3 h,peak at 24 h,and then decreased in both hypoxia and hypoxia-ischemia group.The expression of Bcl-2 protein was similar with HIF-1 α in hypoxia and hypoxia-ischemia group.The ratio of P53 and Bcl-2 was almost 1 in sham group,less than 1 at 3 h,6 h,12 h,and more than 1 at 24 h and 72 h in both hypoxia and hypoxia-ischemia groups.Conclusion: The HIF-1 α participates in the regulation of P53 and Bcl-2 in hypoxia ischemia brain damage in neonatal rats.HIF-1α may have protective role in the onset of hypoxia.
