This paper presents an electrical equivalent circuit model for lithium-ion batteries used for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). The model has two RC networks characterizing battery activation and concentration polarization process. The parameters of the model are identified using combined experimental and Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) recursive methods. The open-circuit voltage and ohmic resistance of the battery are directly measured and calculated from experimental measurements, respectively. The rest of the coupled dynamic parameters, i.e. the RC network parameters, are estimated using the EKF method. Experimental and simulation results are presented to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed circuit model and parameter identification techniques for simulating battery dynamics.

This paper presents a fine-grained pipeline algorithm for LU decomposition with column partial pivoting and gives the description of its implementation on field programmable gate arrays (FPGA). The pipeline algorithm makes full use of the data reuse property of the LU decomposition during the column partial pivoting in order to reduce the I/O cost. Since the critical functions are pipelined in fine-granularity, the decomposition performance can be improved. The experimental result shows that the computing speed can be 6 times higher than that of the software execution of the serial algorithm on Celeron(R) 3.07GHz. Compared with other FPGA implementations, the proposed design has the better computational accuracy and stability due to the pivoting scheme, while demanding less resource and keeping the high efficiency.

This research focused on the enrichment of phosphorus accumulating organisms (PAO) and glycogen accumulating organisms (GAO) in enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) systems-SBR reactors fed with activated sludge. P/C and the carbon sources were considered as two main factors to control the enrichment conditions. So high P/C and alternate acetate and propionate were supplied to PAO, low P/C and acetate were supplied to g-GAO, and low P/C and propionate were supplied to α-GAO. Under the suitable pH, temperature, DO of the aerobic phase and load of the influent, the enrichment of these three kinds of groups was achieved with the results below: Accwnulibacter reached 80% of the total bacteria, and the efficiency of P removal was over than 98%. Competibacter could reach 90%of the total bacteria, and also, α-GAO was a absolutely predominant group in its reactor. Furthennore, details just like the autoclaved feed and the completely dissolved feed can affect the results of the enrichment work.

When performing RSVP reservation on SRP ring, the layer-2 queuing and forwarding could increase the flow burstiness dramatically, and degrade the QoS level of reserved flows. This paper estimates the impact of SRP MAC on the burstiness of high priority flows. Using the results, more accurate resource reservation could be made while guaranteeing the QoS of reserved flows.
