Science process skill is an important aspect in learning natural science. However, previous studies revealed that students’ science process skills were still low so that various efforts are needed to improve it. One of the efforts to be done is implementing a learning model that can facilitate these skills is Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). This study aims to improve students’ science process skills through the CTL learning model. This research used a CAR design. The population were 74 elementary students, while the samples consisted of 26 students determined using random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used documentation, tests, and observations carried out in each action. The results of round 1 for the components of observation was 82%, categorization was 43%, measurement was 40%, interpretation was 48%, prediction was 46%, application was 46%, planning was 53%, and communication was 80%. The percentage of mastery learning in round 2 for the component of observation was 94%, categorization was 84%, measurement was 85%, interpretation was 88%, prediction was 89%, application was 87%, planning was 84%, and communication was 88%. Therefore, it can be concluded CTL model was able to improve students’ science process skills on material of forces.

The existence of covid 19 made many changes occur, especially in the world of education. One of the changes that occurred is the shift from conventional learning to distance learning. Distance learning turns out to be ineffective when a learner does not focus on himself to fully learn. However, not much research focuses on the subject of learners to become studies so that what is improved and improved is in terms of the media and the instructor. Whereas learners and their learning environment are also an important determinant of the success of distance education especially for elementary school children. This research qualitative ethnographic approach. The data was gained from interviews, observation, and documentation. Further, for strengthening and completing the data, questioners were also spread out for 30 students. The data validity technique uses source triangulation, technical triangulation, researchers as key instruments, and extension of observation. Data analysis techniques use an interactive model that consists of data collection, data reduction, verification, drawing conclusions, and presentation. The Result Distance learning is not effective for elementary school children. This is because parents are not much involved in learning but are also involved in giving pressure. Both parents are not involved and tend not to know. Therefore, to create a conducive learning environment and to realize the purpose of schools providing good education, need help from parents and the community.

Persuasive speech becomes a strategy to attain certain goals and objectives in the communication process. The present study aims at revealing symbolic deixis in persuasive discourse on road signs/lane markings, specifically popular jargons as learning media based on the perspective of forensic linguistics. The method is qualitative descriptive based on library study of scientific books and journals, with main topics of symbolic deixis, persuasive discourse, and learning media. Data include the texts on selected road signs. Analytical technique is interpretations based on symbolic deixis in persuasive discourse. This study reveals that symbolic deixis on road signs is a trick to attract the attention of road users. The texts are persuasive discourse as a means to encourage road users to comply with traffic regulations. Symbolic deixis in persuasive discourse on road signs is a message to promote the safety of road users. Persuasive discourse on road signs can be employed as forensic linguistic-based learning media.

The objective of the research is to explore the use of educational technology in the teaching and learning process for Senior High School students in Palu during outbreak of corona virus pandemic. This research is an exploration research to find out the real condition of the teaching and learning process at Senior High Schools. It was conducted at nine senior high schools in Palu. The finding shows that of more than 700 teachers involved in the training for applying educational technology tools, there around 150 teachers are less active to participate in training. Meanwhile, of more than 15.000 students who participated in distance learning, there are around 3000 students could not participate actively.
