Application of Vector Autoregression (Var) on Modelling and Forecasting Average Monthly Rainfall and Temperature 矢量自回归(Var)在月平均降雨量和气温建模与预报中的应用

Rainfall and temperature have become the two most natural factor that determines the standard of agricultural production. Sensitivity in climate variability over a long period of time need to be recorded, looking at difference in temporal and spatial scale. The need to understand the nature of the differences in the climate system and their impact on the society and environment is of great interest. This paper tends to apply Vector auto-regressive on modelling and forecasting average monthly rainfall and temperature in Nigeria. A monthly data sourced from World Bank climate portal, from January 1986 to December 2021. Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) a test used to test for stationarity of the trends. Also, the criterion, Alkaike information criterion (AIC) is considered in the model lag selection and the VAR model favored VAR at lag 8. Ordinary least square has been used to estimate the VAR model parameter. Granger causality shows a bi-lateral causation from the temperature during rainfall and from rainfall during different temperature. “Impulse Response Functions” (IRF) and “Forecast Error Variance Decomposition” (FEVD) were further carried out as a structural analysis between the two variables, it revealed that, rainfall and temperature are interrelated.

Nirav Modi: A Case Study on Banking Frauds and Corporate Governance 尼拉夫-莫迪银行欺诈与公司治理案例研究

In August 2018, Interpol and the Indian government filed charges against Belgian businessman Nirav Deepak Modi, who is wanted for illicit breach of confidence, deceiving, and dishonesty. The charges include illegal property dealing, corruption, criminal conspiracy, money-laundering, cheating, embezzlement, and contract breaching. Nirav is under investigation in connection with Punjab National Bank's $2 billion fraud scandal, later in March 2018, he filed for bankruptcy in The United States of America. Finally, in June 2018, he was traced in the United Kingdom, where he is living by taking political asylum. Further, in June 2019, the total assets of US$6.6 million were frozen in his Swiss Bank Account. Corporate Governance initiatives were laid down by government officials and intervention by reserve Bank was seek in the case to avoid future occurrence of such fraudulent practices.

Dynamics of Consumption, Decision and Preferences in Branded Dairy Sector in India 印度品牌乳品行业的消费、决策和偏好动态

The study explored the dimensions of consumption characteristics, decision aspects, and consumer predilection to determine the mechanics of the dairy industry that is experiencing a marked transformation concerning indigenous players, and new and potential entrants besides expansion in product categories. The results of the study entailed that consumers' awareness is at rock bottom regarding the presence of branded dairy marketers and they are ignorant of different categories of dairy products available in the market. The marketers must escalate the communication efforts to enter the consideration set of buyers. A thorough understanding of the target market through marketing research is pivotal to gaining acquaintance with the food habits of the market which is indispensable for devising elegant communication strategies. The time is ripe enough for the indigenous marketers to gear up and intensify the marketing campaign else they may be knocked out by foreign dairy companies who have already started making inroads into the Indian dairy market.

A Study to Understand the Effectiveness of Online v/s Offline Training Mode on Employee Performance 了解在线/离线培训模式对员工绩效影响的研究

Training is the core part of every organization as it provides the basic learning and guidance orientation to the new joiners and upskilling to reskilling competency to meet the upcoming expectations of work. During the last two years, the mode of training has shifted more from offline to online mode due to the pandemic restrictions. So, this research paper aims to explore how much difference training can create when conducted in different modes and the use of technology to facilitate training effectiveness. The use of quantitative and qualitative analysis using structured questionnaires and informal group interaction was adopted for the study. The findings and the outcome concluded that the effectiveness of online and offline modes depends on numerous variables like the ability of the trainer, the level of trainees, the content of the training, the applicability of training to work, etc. The study also found that technology emerged as the greatest gift to training in terms of time, cost, reach, scale, comfort, effort, and effectiveness. The outcome of the study will be highly beneficial for the other organizations to grow in this changing organizational setup.

{"title":"A Study to Understand the Effectiveness of Online v/s Offline Training Mode on Employee Performance","authors":"Shilpa Wadhwa, Shivani Sahay","doi":"10.56595/lbr.v3i1.18","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.56595/lbr.v3i1.18","url":null,"abstract":"Training is the core part of every organization as it provides the basic learning and guidance orientation to the new joiners and upskilling to reskilling competency to meet the upcoming expectations of work. During the last two years, the mode of training has shifted more from offline to online mode due to the pandemic restrictions. So, this research paper aims to explore how much difference training can create when conducted in different modes and the use of technology to facilitate training effectiveness. The use of quantitative and qualitative analysis using structured questionnaires and informal group interaction was adopted for the study. The findings and the outcome concluded that the effectiveness of online and offline modes depends on numerous variables like the ability of the trainer, the level of trainees, the content of the training, the applicability of training to work, etc. The study also found that technology emerged as the greatest gift to training in terms of time, cost, reach, scale, comfort, effort, and effectiveness.
