Introduction. Titanium raw materials are gaining more and more importance in modern industrial technologies in mechanical engineering, the chemical industry, the medical field, and energy. Ukraine is involved in many global value-added chains, which makes it an important global player. Existing national production base of titanium products in Ukraine cannot be effectively used, mainly due to problems of technological obsolescence and institutional nature. Therefore, there is a need to determine the directions of expansion of domestic consumption of titanium ores and concentrates in order to increase the added value within the country and to assess the prospects of foreign trade in titanium ores and concentrates. The purpose of the article is to identify the main trends and features of trade in titanium ores and concentrates and to reveal opportunities for expanding domestic consumption and export of Ukrainian titanium raw materials in the conditions of favourable global environment. Materials and methods. To implement the goal, such methods were used: analysis and synthesis (to find out the key aspects of the development of the domestic and foreign market of titanium raw materials); comparative analysis (to assess the dynamics of domestic and foreign trade); statistical and economic analysis (to identify trends in the trade of titanium ores and concentrates of Ukraine); system approach and scientific generalization (to outline promising vectors for the development of trade in titanium ores and concentrates for Ukraine); graphic analysis (for visualization of analytical material). Results and discussion. The assessment of the trends in the sale of titanium raw materials in Ukraine was carried out, which demonstrated the industry's sensitivity to external shocks (pandemic, martial law). It was determined that more than 70% of titanium ores and concentrates are exported, and the existing metalworking and chemical industries consume only a small share of raw materials. Currently, the total volume of sales for domestic consumption of titanium raw materials is an average of 230,000 tons per year. The directions of internal processing of titanium ores and concentrates have been determined. The most important are aircraft construction and the defense industry. The dynamics of export shows the growth of global demand for titanium raw materials, and the import reveals its sporadic nature. The groups and composition of key importers of Ukrainian titanium concentrates were identified. The potential increase in the amount of revenues from the increase in the export potential of titanium raw materials processing products is estimated. Emergent directions for the export potential development have been identified which are the green energy (solar batteries), sustainable nuclear energy and 3D printing. Conclusions. The volumes of domestic trade in titanium ores and concentrates in Ukraine are insignificant and make up less than a third of the total volume of sale

Introduction. As domestic trade and external one has an extraordinarily important value for the economy of every country. Taking into account, Ukraine is a candidate for EU membership starting from 23 June 2022, the diagnostics of the situation in the Ukrainian trade plays a significant role in determining the prospects for its trade development. At this stage, it is important to identify trends that can significantly affect the development of trade in Ukraine and outline the prospects of its development. Materials and methods. The theoretical and methodological basis of this study is formed by the scientific works of both foreign and domestic scholars. The scientific problem has been investigated using the critical and scientific analysis, methods of scientific generalisation and systematisation, induction and deduction. The research results, conclusions and recommendations are substantiated on the integrated approach. Results and discussion. To find out the prospects of trade with the EU, in the article it is analysed the trade of the goods with the main partner countries as Poland, Germany and Italy. In 2021 the trade of goods with the largest EU partner countries had a raw material nature of exports, and high-tech imports prevailed. In the conditions of war situation, the import of goods related to the country’s defence capabilities remains promising. Of particular importance there are military goods, energy resources, goods to ensure the functioning of the infrastructure. To restore the national economy and further integration into the EU, it is necessary to develop the appropriate conceptual frameworks and take effective measures to restore the export potential of industrial enterprises, which should be based on the effective cooperation between local governments and the business environment, optimal use of the comparative advantages of Ukraine’s unique resource, scientific and technical potential, modern mechanisms and tools to stimulate export activities of the domestic enterprises and integration into the global economy. The post-war recovery of Ukraine’s economy will require a new economic policy forming that requires a more balanced scientific basis, the creating an effective system of monitoring and risk assessment, the anticipation of possible problems and threats to exporters, and the development of a set of effective measures to restore industrial production and develop export potential. A priority area may be to stimulate the development of innovation-oriented industrial enterprises, as well as to involve enterprises in global value chains, increasing investment and transfer of innovations. Conclusions. For the further European integration and the recovery of the national economy, it is necessary to support the production and export of high-tech products, which will facilitate integration into global value chains. The prospects of the trade between Ukraine and the EU will primarily depend on the military operations and the operati

Introduction. Faced with unprecedented war challenge, Ukraine in addition to external assistance from allied countries need more internal resources to realize the opportunities for the industrial base recovery towards the providing security for the population and further develop in the future. This has been a pivotal factor to realize internal opportunities for industrial development, in particular, in those areas where Ukraine has sufficient resource, production, scientific and human potentials. One of these areas is the creation of a full cycle of production of titanium products as a critically important mineral for national security. Due to its unique properties, corrosion resistance, biocompatibility) titanium called the material of the future, which makes the country that produces such products a significant participant in global economic relations. Materials and methods. The methods of the system approach were used; abstract-logical; economic and statistical methods; calculation and construction; statistical comparisons graphoanalytics. Results and discussion. Ukraine has unique titanium reserves and has been supplying titanium ore to the world market for many years. However, at the moment, the level of application of high-quality titanium materials in Ukraine is limited by many factors, including significant export orientation (more than 80% titanium ores and concentrates produced in Ukraine are exported, and not processed into products with a higher added value), the necessity for modernization the industry's production potential, high processing costs and structural imbalance of products. Also, there is a scientific-research and experimental-design base, established scientific schools in Ukraine in the field of materials science, metallurgy and titanium engineering. They support the further competitive development of science-intensive technologies and industries at a high scientific and practical level. This is confirmed by the results of the scientific activities of specialized research institutions of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, numerous patents for useful models, projects of fundamental and applied scientific research and scientific and technical (experimental) developments. Further development of the titanium industry depends on the provision of personnel, which is currently complicated by military operations. Conclusions. Based on the characteristics of titanium resources and the current situation in the development of the titanium industry, the entire industrial chain of titanium production in Ukraine should be upgraded. In addition, it is necessary to supplement the consumption structure of titanium materials to expand their implementation. Prerequisites for the development of the titanium industry in Ukraine (resource base, scientific-research and production potential, personnel training system) make it possible to develop into production facilities a full cycle of processing titanium ores and concentrates into titanium s
