What Makes People Purchase Used Products Online? Focusing on the Roles of Consumer Value, Platform Attachment, and Consumer Engagement 是什么促使人们在网上购买二手产品?关注消费者价值、平台依附和消费者参与的角色

Consumer-to-consumer (C2C) platforms have seen tremendous growth recently with most studies focusing on C2C platform for ridesharing and accommodation. However, little studies have explored C2C platform for used product transaction and the relevant factors that influence its continuous usage and recommendation. This study explores how consumer value serves as an antecedent of consumer engagement and platform attachment, leading to continuous use and recommendation intentions of C2C used-product platforms through the lens of uses and gratification theory. Analyzing the structural equation model with survey responses from experienced users of C2C used-product platforms reveals that multi-dimensional consumer values significantly influence consumer engagement and platform attachment. Consumer engagement is observed to substantially impact continuous use intention and recommendation intention of C2C used-product platforms. In contrast, platform attachment significantly affects only recommendation intention. A multi-group analysis, however, shows that platform type (i.e., community-based connector vs. supportive models) does not moderate the strength of the relationship between the exogenous and endogenous constructs of the research model. The results raise a favorable theoretical implication for future and practical implications for C2C used product and e-commerce firms.

Analysis of the Transition Effect to an Equal Allocation Method in IPO Shares IPO股份均衡分配方法的过渡效应分析

This study investigates the impact of introducing the equal allocation method(EAM) for public offering stocks on individual investor participation and stock prices. The study aimed to determine whether the EAM expanded individual investor involvement and how it affected stock prices compared to the previous proportional allocation method. The introduction of the EAM increased the number of shareholders participating in public offerings. This increase in participation could either enhance the efficiency of stock prices by attracting more informed investors or exacerbate speculative trading, leading to higher market excess returns. To assess the effects, the study employed event study and Cahart four-factor analysis to measure excess returns before and after the EAM. The findings indicate a decrease in cumulative excess returns of public offering stocks after the introduction of the EAM. The study also found that the excess return (alpha value) of public offering stocks decreased after the introduction of the EAM, suggesting improved stock price efficiency. Overall, the study highlights the importance of increasing market participation through the EAM and enhancing the efficiency of public offering stock prices. It provides valuable insights into the impact of system improvements related to the introduction of the EAM.

Knowledge Spillovers of Foreign-invested Firms: Innovation Performance of Industry Clusters in Korea 外商投资企业的知识溢出:韩国产业集群的创新绩效

This study aims to investigate whether the presence of foreign-invested firms in domestic industry clusters actually causes a spillover effect by examining the mechanism of the agglomeration effect in the industry cluster. Specifically, this study suggests that the number of non-market institutions near a cluster and a cluster’s productivity have a positive moderating effect on the relationship between the ratio of foreign-invested firms in the cluster and innovation performance. The statistical results support our arguments. First, the ratio of foreign-invested firms in the cluster has a positive impact on the innovation performance of the cluster. Second, the cluster’s productivity showed a positive moderating effect on the relationship between the ratio of foreign-invested firms in the cluster and the cluster’s innovation performance. Third, the number of non-market institutions positively moderate the relationship between the ratio of foreign-invested firms in the cluster and the cluster’s innovation performance.

Investigating the Impact of Metaverse Characteristics on User Behavior through the Combination of PLS-SEM and NCA within the Extended Value-Based Adoption Model 在扩展的基于价值的采用模型中,通过PLS-SEM和NCA的结合来研究元宇宙特征对用户行为的影响

The present study employed the extended value-based adoption model to examine the determinants that influence users" intention to utilize the Metaverse. The determinants impacting users" intention to adopt the Metaverse were identified as technical attributes (seamlessness, concurrence, telepresence, interoperability and economy flow) and personal characteristics (self-efficacy and social influence). For this purpose, the data obtained from 327 people was analyzed using SPSS 22 and Smart PLS 4. The results showed that perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment were found to have a positive influence on perceived value. Meanwhile, technicality and perceived fee did not have a statistically significant negative effect on perceived value. Among the Metaverse characteristics, telepresence, interoperability, concurrence and economy flow were found to have a positive influence on perceived usefulness, and telepresence, interoperability and concurrence were found to have a positive influence on perceived enjoyment. Meanwhile, the NCA results indicate that telepresence, interoperability, and concurrence are necessary conditions for perceived usefulness, while concurrence is the only necessary condition for perceived enjoyment. In addition, we found that social influence and self-efficacy had a positive influence on intention to use the Metaverse. This study is significant in that it empirically analyzes the drivers of user acceptance of the Metaverse.

Discursive Metamorphosis of Kkondae: Investigating the Usage of Kkondae across Organizational Contexts Kkondae的话语变形:调查Kkondae在组织语境中的使用

In this study, we explore discursive patterns of Kkondae across organizational structures. The term “Kkondae,” widely used in Korean society, possesses unique characteristics with diverse interpretations. By considering the organizational contexts, this research aims to illuminate the varying understandings of “Kkondae” across organizations. Given that discourses reflect an embedded social structure as well as individuals use discursive forms to enact their social structure, we postulate that different usages of Kknodae in different workplaces are a product of the ongoing interactions between employees and their organizational structures. In particular, since Kkondae itself has a negative connotation, its different usages in different organizations indicate that the patterns of internal group conflicts in each organization can be discerned by its usage of Kkondae. To test this idea, a data mining approach is employed, collecting 3,427 review texts from seven companies over an eight-year-seven-month period. Through various comprehensive text analyses, the study investigates how employees utilize the term “Kkondae” to express dissatisfaction with the organizational structure in which they are embedded. Our findings present that, based on the distinctive characteristics of Korean society, including the presence of an authoritarian hierarchy, informal hierarchy, and a labor-market hierarchy, different usage of ‘Kkondae’ can appear. This study provides valuable insights into interpreting and understanding the implications of Kkondae discourses within organizational contexts. By uncovering embedded grievances, this study expands our understandings of organizational language and its impact on employee perceptions.

Restatement of Financial Statements and Cross-sectional Comparability: Moderating Effect of Managerial Defence Measures 财务报表重述与横向可比性:管理防御措施的调节作用

Managers have an incentive to prepare financial statements as comparable to that of peer firms as possible regardless of their economic substance. Thus, in order to understand the implications of cross-sectional comparability of financial information, the quality of financial information itself should be taken into consideration. Using 2015-2018 Korean listed firms’ data, we investigate how the cross-sectional comparability of firms that have experienced the restatement of financial statements has changed before and after the restatement. Our findings reveal that the cross-sectional comparability of financial statements is significantly reduced for firms that have experienced financial statement restatement. Furthermore, we find that this aspect is more pronounced in firms with less antitakeover provisions. This may be due to the fact that managers in such firms have a great incentive to exert influence on the production of accounting information in order to preserve their positions. Collectively, our findings suggest that managers(especially those with less protected privileges) tend to distort accounting information to maintain the cross-sectional comparability at a desirable level. This study expands related research by confirming that financial reporting quality should be considered in evaluating the financial statements comparability.

The Relation Between Main Bank’s Asset Quality and Firms’ Financial Comparability 主体银行资产质量与企业财务可比性的关系

This study empirically analyzes whether the asset quality of the main bank is related to the firms" financial comparability. Most Korean companies engage in long-term relationship lending with the main banks. Through this relationship, banks can monitor the opportunistic behavior of managers. However, if the asset quality of the main bank deteriorates, the bank"s incentive to monitor can decrease. Thus we expect that the main banks" asset quality will be related to the firms" financial comparability. The results of empirical analysis as follows. First, we find a negative relation between the asset quality of the main bank and the firms" financial comparability. Second, this relation between the asset quality of the main bank and the comparability is stronger in firms with a lower level of corporate governance. Finally, we conduct additional tests for endogeneity and find that the results are consistent with our main hypothesis. This study has contributions by expanding the research on the determinants of comparability. In addition, our result that bank asset quality is related to firms" financial comparability has implications in that bank asset quality not only threatens the stability of the bank itself but also affects lending firms" decisions.

Impact of ESG Activities on Internal and External Customer Satisfaction: Integrated Analysis of ESG, Employee Satisfaction and Customer Satisfaction Field Data ESG活动对内外客户满意度的影响:ESG、员工满意度和客户满意度现场数据的综合分析

In this study, using field data such as ESG, employee satisfaction, and customer satisfaction data collected from a wide range of industries, the ESG activities of companies and individual activities have an integrated study on the relationship between internal and external customer satisfaction from the perspective of internal and external customers.BRThe analysis results are as follows. First, through text mining analysis, it was confirmed that there is a relationship between ESG activities and internal and external customer satisfaction. Second, as a result of conducting empirical analysis using field data such as KCGS’s ESG rating, Job Planet’s employee satisfaction, and KMAC’s KCSI data, ESG activities have a positive effect on both internal and external customer satisfaction. In particular, ESG activities were found to have a relatively greater impact on customer satisfaction than employee satisfaction. Third, in the empirical analysis using KEJI, it was found that environmental activities have a positive effect on both internal and external customer satisfaction. Corporate governance activities had a positive effect only on employee satisfaction. Social activities did not have a significant effect on employee satisfaction, but rather showed a negative relationship with customer satisfaction. The interpretations of these findings and the implications are also discussed.

This paper examines environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance around seasoned equity offerings (SEOs). A firm may improve ESG performance prior to SEOs to the extent that it believes that investors will be more favorable to firms with better ESG performance (window-dressing hypothesis). In contrast, SEO may indicate that a firm is short of internal resources and a firm under little financial slack may sacrifice ESG performance (Slack resource hypothesis). Through empirical analyses, we find support for the latter: ESG performance of firms decrease significantly around SEOs, while capital expenditures and R&D do not decrease. However, financially constrained firms do not reduce ESG performance, suggesting that these firms care about investors
