IMPROVING EMPLOYEE AND WORKPLACE PERFORMANCE VIA LEAN MANUFACTURING PRACTICES: A CASE STUDY IN TEXTILE COMPANY 通过精益生产实践提高员工和工作场所绩效:纺织公司案例研究

This study explores the possibility of enhancing employee and workplace performance by implementing lean manufacturing practises in a textile industry. It addresses the  the limited availability of empirical data concerning lean practices, with a particular focus on the textile industry. Qualitative approaches were employed involving direct observations and in-depth interviews with important stakeholders, followed by a thematic analysis of the data. The findings highlight the effects of lean manufacturing practises (Just-in-Time (JIT), flexibility, and continuous improvement) on worker performance, workplace productivity, quality, and overall organisational performance. The outcomes of this research offer valuable insights and practical recommendations for textile companies aiming to enhance their employee and workplace performance through the adoption of lean manufacturing practices. Such implementation will help to reduce lead time, improve customer satisfaction, and increase productivity and efficiency.

TEAM PERFORMANCE IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY: A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW 建筑业的团队绩效:系统文献综述

Numerous studies have been conducted in the construction sector to assess how project delivery techniques affect project success. However, the project team's setup and structure have received minimal attention, hence requiring more thorough studies that systematically review the body of knowledge on project team performance in the construction industry. This study aims to improve project team performance in the construction sector by systematically reviewing a considerable number of prior research that focused on project team approaches. A narrative literature review approach was used to accomplish this goal using two major journal databases, Scopus and Web of Science. The search efforts resulted in the identification of 28 publications for systematic review. The results found 23 essential approaches for raising project team productivity. Based on the workplace, these approaches were divided into two categories: psychosocial factors and physical factors. Importantly, the results of this review demonstrated a significant relationship between the majority of variables and the elements of the psychosocial work environment. Finally, this study offers several suggestions for future research based on the knowledge gathered from the review.

The food and beverage (F&B) business is faced with a huge challenge in the form of food waste, which has a negative impact on profitability, sustainability, and environmental conservation. In recent years, smart logistical solutions have emerged as a potentially successful strategy for addressing the critical problem of food waste in the F&B industry. This article presents an overview of the application of smart logistics in the context of reducing food waste. The paper has a specific focus on the integration of technologies related to the Internet of Things (IoT) and production planning strategies. It investigated the concept of smart logistics and its benefits to improve decision-making, enhance visibility, and optimise the procedures involved in supply chain management. The study also underlined the role played by IoT in providing real-time monitoring, data collecting, and analysis, all of which can help in identifying and reducing concerns related to food waste. Qualitative methodologies involving the 5-whys analysis were used in this study to identify the root cause of the problem. Additionally, the present study highlights the significance of efficient production planning in reducing the amount of goods that are produced in excess, improving inventory management, and ensuring that production is in line with consumer demand. The findings also highlight the significance of combining the IoT technology and production planning in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to improve the efficiency and efficacy of their efforts to reduce food waste.

This study examined how various dimensions of employee engagement influence the social sustainability of firms operating within the Malaysian construction industry. It focused on employees working in construction firms registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) within the Federal State of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. Simple random sampling was used for respondents selection followed by the distribution of an online questionnaire created using Google Forms. The data was analysed using Structural Equation Modelling via SmartPLS. The results indicated a favorable impact of behavioral employee engagement to firm social sustainability. In a broader sense, these findings shed light on the strategies required to enhance employee engagement for the sake of firm sustainability within the construction sector. It offers valuable insights into the leadership of construction organisations, specifically emphasising the significance of firm social sustainability and how it is influenced by employee engagement. A distinctive feature of this study is its segmentation of employee engagement into cognitive, behavioral, and emotional dimensions. Additionally, it addresses an aspect of sustainability that has received comparatively less attention—construction-related social sustainability—thus contributing to a more comprehensive understanding of the subject when compared to existing research.

MAPPING THE INVESTMENT EFFICIENCY: A CO-CITATION ANALYSIS 绘制投资效率图:共同引用分析

This research pioneers a shift in investment efficiency exploration by transcending traditional measurement approaches. The study identifies three main research areas: (1) Factors influencing investment efficiency, (2) Competition, green Research and Development (R&D) and cooperation in the supply chain, and (3) Environmental and renewable considerations in investment efficiency. This is achieved through a document co-citation analysis of 38 highly cited documents. Multidimensional scaling visually maps the intellectual landscape, emphasising the dominance of factors influencing investment efficiency. A 10-year analysis reveals dynamic trends with implications for financial transparency, strategic ownership, social responsibility and technological advancements.    The study offers actionable insights for scholars and practitioners, emphasising the necessity of aligning financial goals with sustainability. Despite acknowledged limitations related to data source bias, this research contributes a nuanced understanding of investment efficiency trends, paving the way for future explorations in this vital domain.

IMPROVING FILM QUALITY USING SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS IN PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIOS 在摄影工作室使用软件解决方案提高胶片质量

The purpose of this case study was to explore how software solutions can be utilised to improve film quality in photography studios. It focused on the issues faced by a photography studio located in Kangar, Perlis, such as dirty images and damaged films. A survey was administered to 51 working photographers to elicit important insights regarding user preferences and experiences, allowing for a more in-depth grasp of their needs and expectations. The findings revealed that software solutions can be utilised to enhance various aspects of film production, including image clarity, colour accuracy, noise reduction, and overall aesthetic appeal. It also addressed the issue of software flaws and application malfunctions, emphasising the need to use dependable software to avoid disruptions and improve photo editing quality. Photography studios are recommended to combine both high-quality equipment and software programs to optimise business operations, improve overall film quality, and ultimately increase client satisfaction.
