In this paper, I'll study how The Cherry Orchard borrows some of the Aristotlian formulation of tragedy but creates a comedy. The Cherry Orchard conforms to Aristotle's definition of tragedy in the aspects of plot arrangement, character, and emotional purgation, which however, are transformed into a comic form in the play.

There are both merits and flaws in the views shown respectively by CAI Yi,ZHU Guang qian and LI Zhe hou toward the natural beauty,which,as a matter of fact,are complementary to each other.The discussions of natural beauty must take into account the three sub worlds.Based on the concrete objects of the first sub world and on the relevant cultural values of the third sub world,the natural beauty has formed the image which can show human ideals in terms of the basic patterns of the second sub world.As far as this is concerned,natural beauty is not only humanized but also artisticized.
