In order to calculate the single-stage separation factors of uranium isotopes in ion-exchange chromatography involving formation of uranyl acetate complexes according to the two phases distribution theory, the compositions and concentrations of uranyl acetate species in the resin phase were measured by equilibrium experiment, and the reduced partition function ratios for uranyl and uranyl acetate species in the resin phase were deduced by ion-exchange chromatography. The single-stage separation factor teas evaluated as a function of the concentration of uranyl acetate solution on the basis of the results described above and the reduced partition function ratios for uranyl acetate species in solution obtained previously by the analysis of Roman data. It was found that the single-stage separation factor decreases with the increase of the uranyl acetate concentration in solution.

An ideal displacement chromatographic migration of uranium has been accomplished on an anion exchange resin column using uranyl acetate and uranyl citrate complex formations, respectively. Uranium isotope fractionation occurred in the anion exchange chromatography was measured by isotopic analysis and the direction of isotope enrichment was confirmed to be same as the direction observed in cation exchange chromatographies. The magnitudes of the isotope effect obtained were discussed by comparison with those obtained by cation exchange chromatographic processes.
