Electronic Voting Implementation Through Bitcoin Blockchain Technology 通过比特币区块链技术实现电子投票
Pub Date : 2021-08-12 DOI: 10.61366/2576-2176.1095
Cassie Schultz
Even with all the advances we have seen in secure digital technology, the most secure way to currently cast a vote on election day consist of a hand-marked paper ballot. When extenuating circumstances arise, offering a voting environment that is accessible and safe for everyone, but also secure can be a difficult task under the current voting system. This paper discusses one proposed electronic voting system which uses blockchain technology. Based on a review of literature on blockchain technology and specific implementations of voting systems, a summary of relevant background information as well as implementation protocol are provided. Even though experts believe that societies are not currently ready to implement systems like the one described in this paper, the technology to create a secure and efficient system does exist, and could one day become available.

Atmospheric Contrail Detection with a Deep Learning Algorithm 基于深度学习算法的大气轨迹检测
Pub Date : 2020-07-06 DOI: 10.61366/2576-2176.1087

Aircraft contrail emission is widely believed to be a contributing factor to global climate change. We have used machine learning techniques on images containing contrails in hopes of being able to identify those which contain contrails and those that do not. The developed algorithm processes data on contrail characteristics as captured by long-term image records. Images collected by the United States Deparment of Energy’s Atmospheric Radiation Management user facility(ARM) were used to train a deep convolutional neural network for the purpose of this contrail classification. The neural network model was trained with 1600 images taken by the Total Sky Imager(TSI) from March 2017 and achieved an accuracy of 97.5% on the training set of images and an accuracy of 98.5% on the validation set.

Summed Batch Lexicase Selection on Software Synthesis Problems 软件合成问题的总结批量词法选择
Pub Date : 2020-07-06 DOI: 10.61366/2576-2176.1084
Joseph Deglman
Lexicase selection is one of the most successful parent selection methods in evolutionary computation. However, it has the drawback of being a more computationally involved process and thus taking more time compared to other selection methods, such as tournament selection. Here, we study a version of lexicase selection where test cases are combined into several composite errors, called summed batch lexicase selection; the hope being faster but still reasonable success. Runs on some software synthesis problems show that a larger batch size tends to reduce the success rate of runs, but the results are not very conclusive as the number of software synthesis problems tested was small.
