The assessment of factors influencing Big data adoption and firm performance: Evidences from emerging economy 影响大数据采用和企业绩效的因素评估:来自新兴经济体的证据

ABSTRACT The current study investigates and prioritizes 17 determinants of big data adoption (BDA) and establishes causality between these determinants’ and firms’ performance in the tourism and hospitality sector using technology, organisation & environment (TOE) framework. Semi-structured interviews and multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) were utilized to gather data from 28 industry experts. “Big data quality” ranked as the most influential determinant, while “trading partner pressure” ranked as the least influential determinant. This study’s findings highlight the need for governments across the globe to propose and implement policies to reduce the digital divide and enhance standardization.

ABSTRACT Constant growth is crucial for sustainable enterprise operations, encompassing increased sales, turnover, profits, and market share. Growth strategies can be organic or inorganic, with organic strategies leveraging internal strengths and inorganic strategies relying on external factors. Selecting the optimal combination of strategies with limited resources and timing is a key management challenge. Traditional approaches struggle with non-linear market changes. This study proposes a mathematical programming model, including single-objective and multi-objective models. The multi-objective model is transformed using fuzzy theory. The case results and sensitivity analysis demonstrate that these models effectively help enterprises select the best growth strategy combination.

ABSTRACT Hyperautomation is a true digital transformation using advanced techniques and automates complicated business processes. Blockchain-based networks have hyper-automation turbo-boost power as they create tamper-proof, real-time data exchange networks. The study aims to examine the impact of blockchain on the performance of Chinese electronics manufacturers through the green supply chain and circular economy in the hyper-automation environment. Respondents (n = 376) in the present study were made up of employees from 300 China-based electronics companies. The results show that blockchain technology with hyper-automation can impact business performance through a circular economy and green supply chain. In addition, they have direct practical implications for Chinese electronics manufacturers moving towards a green supply chain by applying blockchain in the hyper-automation environment.

Throughput analysis of frequency-domain contention under realistic conditions for hyperautomation 超自动化现实条件下频域竞争的吞吐量分析

ABSTRACT Internet of Things (IoT) has widely been deployed in various industrial fields. To achieve hyperautomation in IoT-based applications, it calls for high-efficient wireless transmission technologies to improve the response speed of IoT nodes. Frequency-domain contention (FDC) is a promising contention-based channel access mechanism to meet this requirement. However, the nature of FDC’s multiple-transmission-multiple-reception and the limit of IoT chip’s synchronization accuracy will lead to carrier frequency offset (CFO) and hence frequent transmission collisions and null transmissions. Considering integer and fractional CFO, this paper theoretically analyzes the FDC throughput and verifies the accuracy of our model via extensive simulations.

ABSTRACT Heterogeneity, volume and real-time velocity of manufacturing data affect the business efficiency within the process for analyzing data in Robotic Process Automation (RPA). A novel parallel frequent itemset mining algorithm based on MapReduce (PMRARIM-IEG) is designed to improve the business efficiency. The algorithm is designed to address issues such as the CanTree's excessive space usage, the inability to dynamically set the support threshold, and the time-consuming data transmission during the Map and Reduce phases. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm has lower memory usage and higher parallel efficiency than the traditional parallel frequent itemset mining algorithm.

ABSTRACT Product recall crises can damage reputation, result in financial losses, and generate negative word-of-mouth from customers. Appropriate response strategies on social media platforms can help companies minimise losses and save electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM). This study analysed 32,697 customer comments from Facebook to explore customer perceptions and examine the performance of different response strategies. Findings showed that the accommodative response strategy improves overall eWOM compared to the indifferent response strategy. The study provides a comprehensive understanding of the impact of social media crisis response strategies on eWOM and offers evidential managerial insights for better customer perceptions.

ABSTRACT Virtual Enterprise (VE) enables organisations to compete by strengthening their core competencies and sharing risks through collaboration. However, for manufacturing-based VE, the literature fails to provide adequate simulation-based methods for understanding the complex behaviour of the production planning step at the tactical level, known as Aggregate Production Planning or Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). In this context, this paper proposes a novel System Dynamics-based model to help to understand the dynamic behaviour of S&OP in VE. Results suggest the efficiency of the proposed model, including its ability to straightforwardly make simulation-based S&OP scenarios comparisons, thus expanding the analytic decision-making capacity of managers desiring to push the limits of traditional S&OP in VE.

Point-supervised temporal action localisation based on multi-branch attention 基于多分支注意的点监督时间动作定位

ABSTRACT Temporal action localisation is a key research direction for video understanding in the field of computer vision. Current methods of using an attention mechanism only divides the video frame into an action instance frame and a background frame. As a result, the action context, which should belong to the background is misclassified into an action instance In addition, during the training phase of using point-supervised frame-level labels, action samples and background samples are unbalanced. The lack of background samples leads to the reduction of the activation score of the background so that the imbalance of samples will affect the separation of action examples from the background. All these reduce the accuracy of action classification and temporal localisation. Therefore, this paper proposesa multi-branch attention network and a pseudo-background label generation method. Experimental results show that the proposed method can improve the separation effect of action instances, background, and action context. Moreover, the proposed model achieves excellent performance on the THUMOS-14 dataset.

Current methods of using an attention mechanism only divides the video frame into an action instance frame and a background frame. As a result, the action context, which should belong to the background is misclassified into an action instance In addition, during the training phase of using point-supervised frame-level labels, action samples and background samples are unbalanced. The lack of background samples leads to the reduction of the activation score of the background so that the imbalance of samples will affect the separation of action examples from the background. All these reduce the accuracy of action classification and temporal localisation. Therefore, this paper proposesa multi-branch attention network and a pseudo-background label generation method. Experimental results show that the proposed method can improve the separation effect of action instances, background, and action context. ABSTRACT Distribution network for e-commerce is an important supply chain (SC) networks required for effective management of warehousing. Due to the recent disruption in the SC, minimal lead times for product delivery days can no longer be guaranteed, thereby causing an increase in distribution and delivery of goods. This paper investigated some human factors (HFs) to understand the root cause of the ongoing disruption in the SC system using statistical and exploratory data analysis. The findings revealed that HFs has a huge significance in a distribution system. To our best knowledge, these findings are seldom reported in literature of e-commerce systems.
