Real-time formant speech synthesis using the TMS320C25 基于TMS320C25的实时语音合成

Applications of speech synthesis systems depend on high synthetic speech quality, real-time operation and system cost. This paper focuses on the real-time implementation of an improved quality formant synthesis system by using the Texas Instruments TMS320C25 digital signal processor. Owing to using the phoneme as the basic synthesis unit, the required speech database capacity is fairly low, namely, 15 kbytes. Thus, the system cost is decreased rapidly.<>

Analysis of piecewise-linear circuits by complementarity pivot approach 分段线性电路的互补枢轴法分析

A new approach for solving resistive piecewise-linear networks is recommended which uses the equivalent linear models containing controlled switches. Then the generalized complementary equations are formulated and all the solutions are found by the iteration method. The advantage of the approach is that the voltages and currents of the controlled switches are taken as the basic variables. Consequently, the physical meanings of the variables are more clear and the approach is more straight forward than the parameter equations.<>

A simple tone classifier for Cantonese recognition 一个简单的粤语语音分类器

This paper presents a method for tone classification of discrete Cantonese utterance. An in-depth study on the characteristics, properties and variations of different isolated words with the same tone and spoken by various speakers has been carried out. Based on this study, several feature parameters that are pertinent to tone identification were defined. Although some of these parameters are dependent on the intrinsic pitch of the speaker, speaker dependence of the feature set is effectively removed by using a novel intrinsic pitch estimation procedure. A neural net was trained to perform tone classification by utilizing the feature set derived. An average speaker-independent recognition accuracy of around 84% was obtained.<>

Experimental investigation of 8 GHz LO-echoing FET up-converter 8ghz lo回波场效应管上转换器的实验研究

The performance of an 8 GHz LO-Echoing FET up-converter is presented. A conversion gain of 1.3 dB from 70 MHz IF to the up-converted output and a conversion loss of 4.7 dB from 8.350 GHz LO to the up-converted output are obtained. The maximum up-converted output power is 16.7 dBm. The up-converter can be used as the output of a microwave transmitter. It can replace the diode up-converter and the first two stages in the FET high-power amplifier.<>

Pattern recognition in spike trains 尖峰列车的模式识别

The modern neuroelectrical physiology indicates that there are certain patterns in neural spike trains which appear more frequently than others. These favored patterns (FP) may be related to the mechanism of neural information processing in central nervous system. This paper describes the quantized Monte Carlo method and template method which are used in FP recognition. The Monte Carlo method determines the FP candidates. The template method chooses FP from the candidates and counts the number of the FP in the spike train. This work will be pursued for extracting the FP in some complicated spike train.<>

A fast algorithm for bispectra based time delay estimation 一种基于双谱的快速时延估计算法

Time delay estimation has been a problem of considerable practice interest in sonar design for a long time. The conventional estimation, GCC processor, has poor performance when the signal to noise ratio is small. C.L. Nikias and others show that the performance of estimation can be improved if higher-order spectra(polyspectra) are used. But not only conventional bispectrum methods, but also parametric bispectrum methods are difficult to implement, due to complication of calculation, such as: matrix multiplication and inversion. In this paper, bispectra based time delay estimator, which has some genuine advantages in implementation, is developed by using the principle of generalized cross-spectra method proposed by Li, Qihu (1984).<>
