An Asymmetric Mechanism to Synchronize Continuous Media in Mobile Distributed Systems 移动分布式系统中连续介质同步的非对称机制

The preservation of temporal dependencies at runtime among continuous media for mobile distributed systems (MDS) is a key issue for emerging mobile applications, such as medical signal monitoring and interactive multiuser games. The preservation of temporal dependencies among continuous media and simultaneous mobile distributed sources is an open research problem. This paper proposes a temporal synchronization mechanism to be used at runtime in a MDS. The synchronization mechanism avoids the use of a common reference by executing temporal dependencies according to the causal dependencies of the continuous media data. Our mechanism is efficient in terms of processing and storage capacities used at the mobile devices, as well as the overhead attached per message across the wired and wireless communication channels.

A Neural-Network Based Model of the Magnetic Nonlinearity of a DC Electromagnet 基于神经网络的直流电磁铁磁非线性模型

This paper shows how an Artificial Neural Network model (ANN) can be used to fit the nonlinear magnetic behavior of a DC electromagnet. An ANN model is trained to obtain a generalized function of the B2-?r curve, which is commonly used in an electromagnetic model. Once the generalized function and its derivative are obtained, they are used to solve a magnetostatic nonlinear problem of a DC device using the finite element method and the Newton-Raphson algorithm.

Improved Method to Design Rational Decimation System for Software Defined Radio: Part I - Algorithm 软件无线电合理抽取系统设计的改进方法:第一部分-算法

This paper presents an algorithm for rational decimation system. The proposed algorithm reduces the overall memory elements and load. The proposal utilizes Interpolated Finite Impulse Response (IFIR) filter. The proposed structure is simplified by splitting the factorable decimation factor into two integers, i.e. $M=M_{1}cdot M_{2}$ such that $M_{1}> M_{2}$. The applied methods are multi rate techniques and number theory for digital signal processing. This proposed algorithm is applicable in communication systems like Software Defined Radio (SDR).

Single and Multi Diffusion-Tensor Based Kernels for Anisotropic Filtering of Brain DW-MR Images 基于扩散张量核的脑DW-MR图像各向异性滤波

Diffusion Weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging is widely used to study the structure of the fiber pathways of brain white matter. Though, the recovered axon orientations could be prone to error because of the low signal to noise ratio. Spatial regularization can improve the estimations but it must be done carefully such that real information is not removed and false orientations are not introduced. In this work we investigate the advantages to apply an anisotropic filtering based on single and multiple axon bundle orientation kernels. To this aim, we compute local diffusion kernels based on Diffusion Tensor and multi Diffusion Tensor models. We show the benefits of our approach on three different types of DW-MRI Data: synthetic, in vivo human data, and acquired from a diffusion phantom.

Fingerprint Recognition Using Open Algorithms in Frequency and Spatial Domain 基于频域和空域开放算法的指纹识别

Undoubtedly the recognition of individuals is essential to ensure the confidentiality of all activity that handle certain exclusivity. Features of a fingerprint are able to make a fingerprint reader device responds differently to each individual. This paper, contains important aspects of fingerprint recognition. We introduced a detailed analysis on the fingerprint conceptualization as biometric pattern, and presents an interesting sequence of algorithms such as the negative laplace filter and the non-stationary analysis of the short time fourier transform, and a flexible algorithm to find the match percentage in the verification process.

The dimensions of a CMOS-MEMS Z-axis accelerometer are varied in a parametric study that pursues to explore the design space of the spring stiffness that can be achieved by this device. The results of the spring stiffness obtained via simulation will be compared to the one obtained via analytical results, to evaluate the accuracy obtained by using the analytical formulas.

Joint Control Strategy for Haptic Guidance 触觉引导的联合控制策略

training based on a sliding model control law for path planning, designed from passivity theory, applied to haptic devices modelling as manipulators robots with contact task, considering the human operator in the control loop. The experiments were developed with the Phantom premium 1.0 haptic device and a closed path planning in its space of admissible configurations with presence of external disturbances for experimental proof of robustness. The proposed sliding model controller is the continuity and therefore it is chattering-free. We propose a variable structure control of sliding modes of second order, using hyperbolic functions to solve the problem of chattering.

This paper presents the application of Hidden Markov Models and Artificial Neural Networks to recognise trajectory patterns in a Euclidean space from data filtered and parametrised by the Fast Fourier Transform. The data comes from the movement of a device based on accelerometers which is used by the Nintendo Wii.

The important challenge in mobile robots is the ability to autonomously navigate, by avoiding modeled and unmodeled obstacles especially in crowded and unpredictably changing environment. In a way to structure the navigation task to tackle the problem, a behavior-based navigation is considered. In this article, the use of individual conducts design and action coordination of the behaviors using fuzzy logic is used. A layered approach is employed in this work in which a supervision layer based on the context makes a decision to which behaviors to process, rather than processing all behaviors.

Among the photovoltaic (PV) systems, the ones interconnected to the electric system have presented a greater growth in the developed countries. In order to transform the generated DC energy in AC energy ready to be delivered to a grid, the concept of AC Module is applied. But the problem of generating quality voltage to the network from a single PV module arises. As a solution, the topology of the buck-boost converter with tapped inductor is studied, with the purpose of selecting the converter appropriated for an integrated PV inverter applied to residential use with connection to a single-phase grid, providing high benefits without isolation. Its performance is evaluated by means of an electronic simulator P Spice and it is verified with a prototype.
