Some new results on stability and stability robustness of Fornasini-Marchesini state-space 2-D digital filters Fornasini-Marchesini状态空间二维数字滤波器稳定性和鲁棒性的一些新结果

The paper describes a Lyapunov approach to stability and stability robustness analysis for 2D digital filters in the Fornasini-Marchesini local state-space setting (E. Fornasini and G. Marchesini, 1980). A class of new constant 2D Lyapunov equations, that generalize the 2D Lyapunov equation proposed recently by T. Hinamoto (1993), is described. It is shown that the generalized 2D Lyapunov equation can be used to derive a new stability condition that narrows the gap between the "necessity" and "sufficiency" that occurs in Hinamoto's stability theorem. The generalized 2D Lyapunov equations are then utilized to derive two lower bounds of unstructured, stable perturbations of a given stable filter. Numerical techniques for solving the proposed 2D Lyapunov equations are also presented.<>

Temporal gain and energy density profiles for a carbon dioxide laser beam amplifier 二氧化碳激光束放大器的时间增益和能量密度分布

The four-temperature kinetic model of Harrach and Einwohner is used to study the performance of a carbon dioxide electron-beam initiated laser amplifier. The model takes into account the effect of adding nitrogen and helium gases, radiation terms and the temperature dependence of vibrational energy transfer rates. Based on this model, a program was written in automatic continuous simulation language (ACSL), to solve the non-linear differential equations, and hence predict certain characteristics of the laser amplifier. The parameters that are varied for the purpose of this investigation are the overall pressure, electric field to neutral particle density (E/N) ratio, gas admixtures and the time duration of the high energy electron beam. The influence the above parameters have on the optical gain and energy density of the laser amplifier is of primary interest to this investigation. If is found that the overall pressure, E/N ratio, and the different gas admixtures have a profound effect on the energy density and gain profiles while the time duration of the electron beam does not.<>

In large-scale systems, the optimal control of isolated subsystems leads in general to suboptimal control of the overall system. An exception is made when the interactions between subsystems are neutral. This paper discusses the problem of neutralizing interactions in large scale systems. A new characterization of neutral interactions is provided. Then using linear quadratic controllers for isolated subsystems, the choice of the design parameters are derived to achieve neutralization of the interactions.<>

This paper introduces an analytical expression for the output power of a recently developed GaAs MESFET integrated optical neuron. Our expression shows that output power depends on the threshold voltage and device parameters of driving MESFET. Analytical results are compared with experimental values of NASA scientists. Agreement is satisfactory.<>

It is often necessary to determine the electrical parameters of hundreds of different motors in an industrial plant for system studies. Electrical parameters can be obtained by actually testing each of the motors, which is undoubtedly a tedious and time consuming task, if not impossible, due to the requirement of continuous operation of motors in the process industry, for example. The determination of the electrical parameters of motors can be accomplished more economically with the help of a new optimization technique called genetic algorithms. This method is widely accepted for its simplicity, ability to converge with minimal input from the user with a short computational time.<>

HFDDI: a hierarchical approach to FDDI networking HFDDI: FDDI联网的分层方法

A hierarchical networking strategy for the fiber distributed data interface, HFDDI, is presented, that offers solutions to the problem of performance degradation due to large numbers of stations on an FDDI ring, and the geographical distance. The hierarchical decomposition in HFDDI allows to reduce the network into manageable clusters, encouraging modularity, scalability, and cost effectiveness. Through simulations the performance benefits of HFDDI are illustrated.<>

Broadcasting in injured hypercubes using limited global information 在受损超立方体中使用有限的全局信息进行广播

We propose a fault-tolerant broadcasting algorithm in hypercubes with link faults. This algorithm is based on an extended spanning binomial tree structure which keeps the simplicity of conventional binomial tree-based broadcasting. Each node keeps limited information of nearby faulty links in terms of faulty adjacent subcubes. It is shown that under most circumstances, a broadcasting can be completed optimally in n steps except for a few cases with low probability which require n+1 steps.<>

Application of PLCs for nuclear plant emergency load sequencers plc在核电厂应急负荷排序器中的应用

To alleviate operational problems and improve reliability, Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) initiated an electrical enhancement project which implemented modifications to its Turkey Point nuclear power plant 4.16 kV emergency power supply and distribution system (EPS). Each nuclear unit at the Turkey Point plant is a 760 MWe Westinghouse pressurized water reactor. The original design featured shared emergency diesel generators (EDGs) and 4.16 kV busses between the two units. Included in the EPS were the addition of two new EDGs, a new EDG building, diesel support systems, 480 V load centers, bus load sequencers plus numerous components necessary to segregate the electrical system between the two units. This paper describes design considerations for performance objectives, design control, equipment qualification, documentation, verification and validation, codes and standards and the regulatory approval process. The design of the emergency bus load sequencer represents either the first or one of the first applications of PLCs for safety related systems in a US nuclear power plant.<>

Error analysis of quantized weights for feedforward neural networks (FNN) 前馈神经网络(FNN)量化权重误差分析

When a neural network is implemented with limited precision hardware, errors from the quantization of weights become important factors to be considered. In this paper, the authors present several analysis results based on general FNN structures and use several examples to examine the relation between weight errors and output classifications. A lower bound for L, the number of bits used to quantize the weights, is derived in the worst case. This paper also includes the detailed analysis of AND-gates.<>

The process of induction motor manufacturing is not been completely controllable. Then induction motor parameters are obtained from manufacturers, their validity is doubtful since they might have been based on typical parameters for a similar frame size motor.
