An Exploration of Relationships Between Mobile Network Operators (MNO) and Mobile Virtual Network Operations (MVNO) in Nigeria: A Case Study of MVNO in United States of America 尼日利亚移动网络运营商(MNO)与移动虚拟网络运营(MVNO)关系探讨——以美国MVNO为例

Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) are of immense value to the mobile telecommunications industry as they provide services at an affordable rate to customers and work with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) who own the telecommunication infrastructure. This is because Mobile Network Operators sell airtime at wholesale rates to Mobile Virtual Network Operators. The Mobile Virtual Network Operators retain their brand name whilst having an arrangement with their host who is the Mobile Network Operator (MNO). This article therefore identifies the bottlenecks experienced by MNOs in establishing relationships with MVNOs in Nigeria. The article also covers the various forms of MVNO business models available in the industry and the types of policies that support the MVNO success and sustainability.

Range-Based Scheme for Adjusting Transmission Power of Femtocell in Co-Channel Deployment 同信道部署中基于距离的飞基站发射功率调整方案

In heterogeneous networks, femtocells are introduced to improve the network capacity. However, dense deployment of femtocells leads to undesirable interference, which degrades the performance of the system. Controlling the femtocell transmission power is one of the factors that can be considered to alleviate undesirable effect of the interference. Also, it can be used to support auto-configuration c onductance o f t he network. In this work, transmission power auto-configuration approach is proposed. The proposed approach is based on the macrocell transmission power and femtocell coverage. The simulation results depict that the capacity of the network is improved, and the interference is alleviated.

Coverage Analysis of Heterogeneous Wireless Network with n-Interacted Transmission Nodes 具有n个交互传输节点的异构无线网络覆盖分析

In this paper, the coverage performance in Heterogeneous Networks (HetNet) with n-interacted transmission nodes is being analyzed statistically. With HetNets a significant improvement in throughput is expected, but one major drawback in the successful commercial implementation of HetNets is their low coverage probability. The strategies proposed currently for coverage improvement are broadly classified as network cooperation (NC) and interference cancelation (IC). For implementation of all the classes of strategies, it is essential to have real time interaction between the transmission nodes through the backhaul of the network. In general the complexity in the process of the practical implementation of a strategy increases with square of the number of interacting nodes (n). The choice of ‘n' is critical for network designing as it influences many performance parameters and involves the trade-off between coverage and network complexity. This analysis aims to provide the guidance to network designer in choosing the optimum value of ‘n'.

Implementation of Multi-Hop Cognitive Radio Testbed using Raspberry Pi and USRP 用树莓派和USRP实现多跳认知无线电试验台

The increased usage of wireless communication has created a wireless frequency shortage problem. Cognitive Radio (CR) has attracted public attention, as one of the solutions that can resolve this issue. In this paper, the authors built an actual CR system testbed using the SDR (Software Defined Radio) platform, USRP (Universal Software Radio Peripheral) board, the SDR development toolkit, GNU Radio, and Raspberry Pi3, which is a single board computer. They configured Secondary User (SU)s with Raspberry Pi3 for straightforward and portable test environment. The authors' testbed performs spectrum sensing based on energy detection and determines whether the channel is occupied or not. Experimental results not only show performance but also provide their testbed that works well in multi-hop environments.

Time-of-Flight Cameras Enabling Collaborative Robots for Improved Safety in Medical Applications 飞行时间照相机使协作机器人在医疗应用中提高安全性

Human-robot collaboration is being used more and more in industry applications and is finding its way into medical applications. Industrial robots that are used for human-robot collaboration, cannot detect obstacles from a distance. This paper introduced the idea of using wireless technology to connect a Time-of-Flight camera to off-the-shelf industrial robots. This way, the robot can detect obstacles up to a distance of five meters. Connecting Time-of-Flight cameras to robots increases the safety in human-robot collaboration by detecting obstacles before a collision. After looking at the state of the art, the authors elaborated the different requirements for such a system. The Time-of-Flight camera from Heptagon is able to work in a range of up to five meters and can connect to the control unit of the robot via a wireless connection.

Phase Synchronization Impact on Throughput Performance in LTE Network 相位同步对LTE网络吞吐量性能的影响

This paper presents a study of phase synchronization impact on throughput in Long Term Evolution (LTE) network with different transport protocols. Phase synchronization is needed for advanced features in LTE and other precise technologies with minimal clock error of Nano seconds. An End to End LTE testing environment is built by using real User Equipment (UE) and LTE core network for studying the throughput impact due to Phase Synchronization in different transport modes. This experimentation is carried out for comparing the throughput of the system with Frequency Synchronization Mode (FM) and Frequency & Phase synchronization Mode (FPM). A novel study has been conducted on throughput for TCP and UDP traffic in different LTE bandwidths, based on real traffic conditions. The study shows that system performance in Uplink (UL) and Downlink (DL) throughput has improved by using Frequency along with Phase synchronization in LTE network using GPS as a clock source.

Exploring Myths in Digital Forensics: Separating Science From Ritual 探索数字取证中的神话:从仪式中分离科学

Digital forensic methodology deviates significantly relative to the methods of other forensic sciences for numerous practical reasons, and it has been largely influenced by factors derived from the inception and evolution of this relatively new and rapidly changing field. Digital forensics methodology was developed more by practitioners in its early days rather than by computer scientists. This led to accepted best practices in the field that may not represent the best or, at least, tested, science. This paper explores some of these differences in the practice and evolution between digital and other forensic sciences, and recommends scientific approaches to apply to many digital forensic practice rituals.

Routing Protocol for Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Networks 认知无线电自组织网络路由协议

Routing is an important issue in cognitive radio ad hoc networks (CRAHNs) owing to the stochastic activity of primary users (PUs). In particular, route stability remains an important issue in the CRAHN protocols. In this paper, the authors propose a stability-weighted cumulative expected transmission time (SWCETT) routing protocol. The SWCETT routing protocol aims towards providing the most optimal route based on both quality of service (QoS) metrics, such as delay and throughput, and stability of the route in the CRAHN. The performance of the SWCETT routing protocol is determined through simulations and compared with other routing protocols. The proposed routing protocol is capable of providing better delay and throughput than other routing protocols. The results prove the importance of the route stability metric in raising the performance of CRAHNs.
