Objectives : The purpose of this study is to examine the preparing methods of the traditional acupuncture needle and to interpret the electromagnetic meaning intervened in them. Methods : The overall manufacturing processes of the acupuncture needles in ancient books were surveyed. And the facts that special functional activities were carried out in common in the preparing processes were detected. The reproduction tests for the detected former functional activities were followed. Results : According to the ancient medical books, the traditional acupuncture needles were treated with the magnet through the preparing processes. The reproduction tests provided the fact that the ferromagnetic iron needles treated with the magnet were enhanced their magnetisms. And major techniques of the ancient supplementation and draining can be interpreted as magnetic or induced electromagnetic actions. Conclusions : Considering the electromagnetic characteristics of human body, the magnet treated ferromagnetic iron needles of ancient era and magnetic or induced electromagnetic interpretable manipulation techniques are the historical evidences of magnetic activities of acupuncture. So modern acupuncture therapy should be understood, studied, and reinterpreted as an electromagnetic viewpoint.

Objectives : The purpose of this systematic review was to overview and evaluate the current state of the usage of bee venom acupuncture. Methods : We collected 173 articles on bee venom acupuncture(BVA) clinical study from eight electronic databases from January 2002 to June 2013. Results : BVA was used in musculoskeletal diseases for 66 %, and the chosen acupoints were various. The ratio of the reports which had collected below 10 cases was 43 %. The concomitant treatment and evaluation tools showed diversity in each article. Conclusions : Bee venom clinical study shows the lack of unity and consistent regulation, and has low clinical cases. Future studies should correct these limits and promote more varied research to develop the therapy of bee venom acupuncture.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report clinical effect of oriental medical for a not improved ITP patient, who developed complication from DVT, after intravenous immunoglobulin treatment. Methods : The patient was treated using Saam acupuncture, herbal medication, moxibustion and physical treatment. And we measured of systemic symptoms and platelet counts. Results : After treatment, systemic symptoms and platelet counts were improved in case. Conclusions : Oriental medical treatment showed significant effect on ITP patient that not improved platelet counts after intravenous immunoglobulin treatment.

Objectives : Hemifascial spasm is painless uncommon disorder characterised by involuntary paroxysmal movement of one side of face. In this study, the effect of meridian tendinomusculature acupuncture and pharmacopuncture therapy for two patient with hemifascial spasm were evaluated. Methods : We treated two patients with meridian tendino-musculature acupuncture and placenta pharmacopuncture therapy in sternocleidomastoid muscle. We evaluated the effect by Scott’s scale and treatment satisfaction. Results : Before therapy, the grade of spasm intensity classified by Scott’s description in two cases were 3. After therapy, the Scott’s grade of one case was 0, and another case were 1. Conclusions : Meridian tendino-musculature acupuncture and placenta pharmacopuncture therapy in sternocleidomastoid muscle for hemifascial spasm was effective and will be attemped to the patients with it.
