Modeling and control of large salient-pole synchronous hydro generators and stability issues in isolated production mode 大型凸极同步水轮发电机的建模与控制及隔离生产模式下的稳定性问题

This paper presents the modeling, simulation and analysis of the dynamic behavior of a hydroelectric power plant of 2×343 MVA including hydraulic system, electrical installations, rotating inertias and control systems. First, the modeling of the electrical and hydraulic systems is described. The electrical system is constituted by a salient-pole synchronous generator with its ST1A excitation system model and PSS2B power system stabilizer model. Then, the set of parameters of the turbine speed governor of the hydroelectric power plant is determined with a specific identification procedure to achieve stable operation for different cases as interconnected or isolated operation. The analysis of the stability of the power plant is investigated through time domain simulations for different sets of controllers' parameters and for different cases (simulation of the only electric part and of the whole hydroelectric system).

Detection of stator winding insulation failures: On-line and off-line tests 定子绕组绝缘故障检测:在线和离线测试

Insulation faults in electrical rotating machines are a matter of great industrial interest since the economic losses associated with these events are usually equal or even higher than the cost of the machine itself. For this reason, the development of monitoring and diagnostic techniques to detect this failure during its earliest stages has been a subject of great interest. On the other hand, the accuracy of the quality controls applied to the manufacturing of insulation systems is an essential issue to reduce fault rate and increase machine life. The aim of this paper is to present a comprehensive review of the scientific literature in this field, including not only research papers but also existing standards for off-line tests. A critical review of their diagnosis capability, especially on low voltage machines, is essential to clarify the reliability of these techniques as well as the convenience of its generalized industrial use.

Design and control of fault-tolerant permanent magnet machines 容错永磁电机的设计与控制

This paper discusses design and control techniques for fault tolerant permanent-magnet (PM) machines that are suitable for applications where safety is of paramount importance. Back-EMF based design and analysis approach for a multiphase air-core linear motor has been presented in this paper. Apart from the design approach, fault tolerant techniques for current control in both time and frequency domains have also been discussed. In time domain, an iterative learning based control method is also presented and is found to be very robust. Both open-circuit and short-circuit fault tolerant operation have been discussed in this paper.

This paper overviews the state of the art of switched reluctance machines (SRM) and their potential application in propulsion of electric vehicles (EV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). Three-phase SRM configurations have been advised, in order to reduce the inverter cost, and a relationship between their numbers of stator-poles and rotor-poles have been established. Compared to other machine technologies, SRMs produce more high frequency pure tones (up to 12 kHz) that are prominent and perceived as unpleasant. The poor sound quality of SRMs is holding them from a possible consideration for mass-production in automotive applications.

Stabilization of sensorless induction motor drives: A survey 无传感器感应电机驱动的稳定研究

This paper presents a survey of methods for stabilization of sensorless induction motor drives. Some frequently suggested flux and speed estimators - such as full- and reduced-order observers - are reviewed, along with their key properties. Three commonly occurring instability phenomena are discussed, as are methods for preventing them. The methods are generally applicable to various estimator types.

This paper describes some tests carried out on board an Italian Navy's ship for validation of a novel technique for on-line monitoring of shaft misalignments in working synchronous generators. The technique is based on the split-phase current signature analysis principle. Rotor eccentricities impact on the split-phase currents of stator windings with parallel connections, producing asymmetry in both amplitudes and phases. Symmetrical components can be applied to carry out a straightforward diagnosis starting from the measurement of those currents. This paper also describes the practical measurements, in presence of unbalanced and step-changing loads. Loads on board ships are usually unbalanced and may change suddenly. However, it is shown that the load-related unbalance can be separated from the eccentricity-related unbalance in the split-phase currents. The paper shows the basics of the split-phase current signature analysis, the practical installation of current transformers in the test generator, the instrumentation set-up, and the results of measurements with various loads, besides some check simulations carried out by using winding functions.

This paper addresses recent advances in fault diagnosis by Park's Vector Approach, with special emphasis being given to the most recent developments concerning power converter fault diagnosis in variable speed ac drives. With the aim to demonstrate the suitability of such approach for power converters self-diagnostic, a detailed comparison of four algorithms intended for real-time diagnosis is also included. Their performance evaluation is accomplished by means of experimental results, analyzing some key features such as effectiveness, robustness against false alarms, detection speed, implementation effort, tuning effort and computational burden.

Electrical machines fault diagnosis by stray flux analysis 基于杂散磁通分析的电机故障诊断

The stray flux in the vicinity of an electrical machine is inherent to its running. It is tied to the magnetic state of the machine and therefore can be affected by the presence of a fault in the machine. Accurate modeling of the external magnetic field is quite complicated and simple models are required in order to analyze the effect of an internal fault on the stray flux. This paper displays the possibilities offers by the stray flux for fault detection. A simple model of the external magnetic field is presented and a study in healthy and faulty conditions is developed. Two kind of fault in induction machine are considered: stator inter-turn short-circuit and rotor broken bar. Experimental results are in agreement with the theory, they highlight the differentiation between the radial flux and the axial flux.

It is tied to the magnetic state of the machine and therefore can be affected by the presence of a fault in the machine. Accurate modeling of the external magnetic field is quite complicated and simple models are required in order to analyze the effect of an internal fault on the stray flux. This paper displays the possibilities offers by the stray flux for fault detection. A simple model of the external magnetic field is presented and a study in healthy and faulty conditions is developed. Two kind of fault in induction machine are considered: stator inter-turn short-circuit and rotor broken bar. Diagnosis of induction machines under non-stationary conditions: Concepts and tools 感应电机在非平稳条件下的诊断:概念和工具

This paper is focused on fault diagnostic methodologies suited for induction machines which are subjected to fluctuating loads and speeds during their normal duty cycle. In these cases, the load and speed fluctuate continuously, near their rated values, and in a random way; the diagnosis becomes more complicated than under stationary regime or under other kind of transients, as the startup, much intensively studied at the literature, in which the speed, slip, and current undergo larger variations and evolve in a predefined way. In the first part of this paper, different approaches which enable the diagnosis under non-stationary conditions are introduced from a conceptual perspective. The second part of this work is devoted to the practical implementation of the diagnostic approaches previously introduced: the suitable signal analysis tools needed for carrying out diverse diagnostic approaches are introduced in a comprehensive way and supported by experimental results.
