Acute upper limb ischemia in neonates is extremely rare and oftenassociated with disastrous outcomes including digital gangrene, chroniclimb ischemia, sepsis and limb loss. It is usually seen in the contextof intra-arterial catheters in the preterm neonates but it can be alsoseen in cases of difficult or traumatic deliveries as well as in infantswith coagulation deficits but can also be spontaneous with no obviousaetiology. Treatment options include topical vasodilators, systemicanticoagulation and in some instances, surgical intervention. We reportthree cases of acute limb ischemia in preterm neonates in which anew treatment option was introduced. The neonates responded to acombination of topical nitro-glycerine cream, systemic anticoagulationwith heparin and physical light massaging of the area just proximalto the site of reduced flow in the vessel assuming some degree ofvasospasm of the vessel occurs with or without thrombosis. Keywords: neonatal ischemia, management of neonatal ischemia, topicalvasodilators, systemic anticoagulation, massage therapy, surgicalintervention

Linezolid (LZD) is an antimicrobial agent with a broad spectrum of activity against virtually all clinically important Gram-positive bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), methicillin-resistant coagulase-negative staphylococci (MRCoNS) and vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE). Thrombocytopenia (TP) is a common adverse effect of Linezolid (LZD). Prolonged treatment duration, renal insufficiency, chronic liver disease, malignancy, previous vancomycin use, baseline platelet count, and lower body weight have been reported as possible risk factors for LZD-associated TP. Here, we illustrate a case of a 51-year-old male patient diagnosed with pancreatitis and urinary tract infection and was prescribed several antibiotics including Linezolid. In this case, platelets count which were initially normal started declining from day 7 of initiating Linezolid. Linezolid was withdrawn from treatment from day 9. Platelet count gradually came back to normal on day 16. This suggests reversible type of thrombocytopenia by Linezolid. This case illustrates need for careful observation of platelet count during the treatment with Linezolid. Keywords: Linezolid, Thrombocytopenia, Dechallenge

The analysis of literature data and our published results of examination of patients with a wide range of pathological processes was carried out. It has been established that polar changes in reactivity provoke the development of immune-dependent ones, which include primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, auto-aggressive and immunocomplex diseases, or immunoassociated purulent-inflammatory, nonspecific inflammatory lung diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, in which suppression and stimulation of reactivity is a pathogenetic mechanism for normalizing homeostasis, depending on the links of the immune system, doses of antigens, the initial state of protective functions, phases of the immune response, etc. Keywords: Stimulation. Obesity is a critical universal well-being challenge. Obesity is influencing various chronic conditions like high blood pressure, diabetic illnesses, strokes, cardiovascular ailments, and different kinds of cancer. Treatment of obesity becomes subject to high healthcare costs and lifestyle modifications. However, the most worrying aspect in Saudi Arabia is the intensifying obese-related cases among kids and teenagers. Progression of the condition becomes complex to manage. Again, the vital or severity of health consequences of childhood obesity underscores the disorder as a community health issue in the country. Kids’ and teenagers’ obesity cases have adverse effects on life quality and expectancy and lead to substantial healthcare expenses. Evaluation of various research underscores a relation between obesity, socio-economic status, and lifestyle changes. According to Al-Hussaini et al. (2019), economic success and subsequent lifestyle shifts incorporating sedentary lifestyles and dietary mannerisms continue to influence child and adolescent obesity in Saudi. The evaluation of literature on obesity-related cases in the country offers a better comprehension of the link between child or adolescent obesity and lifestyle factors, which enables one to understand how to prevent and manage the condition effectively.

Background : India accounts for the highest incidence of lip and oral cancer in the world. In early stages, surgery and radiation therapy are curative treatments, while locally a locally advanced carcinoma requires a multidisciplinary management. A major cause of failure in advanced rapidly growing tumors is accelerated repopulation. To overcome this problem ,various accelerated fractionation radiotherapy techniques are used. Aim : To compare the outcome, feasibility, tolerability of concomitant boost chemoradiotherapy over conventional chemoradiotherapy Materials and methods: From November 2018 to June 2020,64 patients from J.K.Cancer institute,Kanpur were enrolled in this study.prospective comparative study was done to find out the difference in all groups Results : out of 59 eligible patients,31 were assigned to arm A(conventional chemoradiation) and 28 were assigned to arm B (concomitant boost chemoradiation). Out of 31 patients in arm A, 15(48.4%) had complete response(CR),8 (25.8%) had partial response (PR),4(12.9%) had stable disease (SD) and 4(12.9%) had progressive disease (PD).In arm B ,out of 28 patients,14(50%) had complete response,6(21.4%) had partial response,6(21.4%) had stable disease and 2 (7.1%) had progressive disease. Conclusion : Concomitant boost chemoradiotherapy had a response comparable to conventional chemoradiotherapy with moderate efficacy and acceptable toxicity. It can be used as alternative to conventional chemoradiotherapy in limited resource setting where the total duration can be minimized and workload can be reduced. Increasing the endurance performance of the lower limb muscles can not only be helped by the type and method of exercise, but consumption of the right nutrition. Bananas are one of the nutrients with a source of carbohydrates, sugar and the mineral potassium which can help the process of muscles to contract during exercise. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving bananas on lower limb muscle endurance. And also, what is the proper mechanism for banana consumption to increase muscle endurance in the lower extremities. This research method is a quasi experimental method, with a pre-test and post-test design. Subjects were taken through probability sampling techniques with simple random sampling method. Subjects filled out a list of questions and agreement sheets, then in the pre-test, the subject pedalled an ergometer until the research subject was unable to continue the test or reached a maximum heart rate. The post-test was continued two days later by being given a banana one hour before the test and then pedalling an ergometer bicycle until it reached the same limit as the pre-test. The research results were analysed using the t test. There is a significant effect by bananas consumption on the endurance of lower extremity muscles. This shows that giving bananas is very beneficial for individuals who will do sports so that they can increase their endurance. Consuming 2 bananas before doing activities, especially before exercising, can increase the endurance of lower limb muscles and physical fitness, except for people with kidney disease. The right time to consume bananas is 60 minutes before exercising. This consumption can be done again if you want to continue sports or other activities after experiencing fatigue. Further research is needed by measuring potassium levels in the body which affect the results of giving bananas on muscle endurance so that the results obtained are more objective. In addition, for further research, there is a need for a uniform cycling technique, especially the pedaling position with the bicycle ergometer test when measuring the endurance of the muscles of the lower extremities so as not to affect the results of the study. Keywords : Lower limb muscle endurance, Banana Consumption.

Background: India is experiencing a transitional shift with more of new cases of Non Communicable Disease observed specially in young adults. One of the major reasons of this upsurge is faulty dietary habits, resulting in overweight and obesity and further rise in NCDs. The purpose of this study is to assess eating habits and nutritional risk factors for NCDs in a medical student of Medical college of Delhi. Methods: After explaining the purpose of the study in individual classroom explained questionnaire was mailed to all 300 medical college undergraduate students currently studying in this medical college. The form consists of questions on sociodemographic details including information about weights, height and eating habits including, drinking and smoking habits. Results: Filled forms were returned by 220 students out of which 204 were found to be complete and were considered for further analysis. Of total 204 students, 72 (35.3%) were females and 132 (64.7%) were males in our study. Regarding meals only 154 (75.5%) were found to be taking meals regularly i.e. more than 3 times a day and 82.4% (168) were having breakfast on regularly basis. Daily consumption of vegetable and legumes against recommended two times were found only in 41.2 (84) students, similarly daily fruit consumption against recommended two times was found only in 30.4% (62) students only. However fast-food consumption on daily basis was as high as 23.5% (48).Smoking was absent in students and alcohol intake was present in 3% of males (06) and reportedly absent in females. About 22.5% (46) was reported of doing some sort of exercise in a week but only 20 (9.8 %) were found to be doing exercise on daily basis. 156 (76.5%) sought some sort of information regarding balanced diet and 120 (58.8%) had reported to have adequate information about balance diet. Conclusion: Eating habits were found to be irregular among undergraduate medical students with regard to meals and daily intake of fruits and vegetables was found to be less than recommended norms. More efforts are required for improving eating practices of the students and also for adequate nutrition and its implication on health. Keywords: Eating Practices, MBBS students, Balanced diet, Junk food, Regular meals, Non comunicable diseases.

Introduction Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a new pandemic caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. This pandemic has caused increase in anxiety among people globally and more the pregnant women. Elevated levels of anxiety and stress may adversely affect the outcome. Aim & Objective: This study aimed at developing and validating a tool to assess the stress and anxiety due to pandemic which helps the health care professionals to identify the probable cases of anxiety associated with the coronavirus and can take adequate measures to improve the emotional well-being of the antenatal women. Methods & Material: A cross-sectional survey was carried out among the pregnant women in Kerala using a 29-itemtool through google forms during the month of June. Statistical Analysis: Item analysis, Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were done to evaluate scale dimensionality, factor loadings, and factor structure using the R Software version 4.0.2. Results: Factor analysis resulted in a 15-item short tool, Pandemic anxiety stress scale for pregnant women (PASSP) with the reliably index of Cronbach’s alpha of 0.93. Exploratory factor analysis extracted two factors. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the factor structure of the PASSP with Goodness of fit indices. Two factor model structure has good fit indices with GFI>0.90, DFI and TLI>0.95 and SRMR =0.04. Discussion: This study developed a new validated instrument PASSP for assessing the anxiety and stress due to a pandemic among pregnant women in Kerala. Keywords: COVID19, anxiety, pandemic, pregnancy, tool validation, factor analysis.

Background:Stroke is a leading cause of mortality & disability worldwide. Despite the remarkable progression in the treatment of stroke, the life quality, psychological & social events caused by stroke received limited attentions. Objective:This study was conducted to identify challenges faced by acute stroke survival patients at neurology OPD of a selected hospital in Kolkata. Methods:A descriptive survey design was applied and total 104 acute (within 3 months following stroke) stroke survival patients were selected by non-probability purposive sampling technique. Socio-demographic characteristics were collected using a structured questionnaire and semi-structured interview schedule was used to identify the challenges faced by acute stroke survival patients.Challenges were assessed in five domains that is physical, psychological, interpersonal, social & financial domain. Results: It was identified from the study findings that 17% of acute stroke survival patients faced mild challenges, 66% patients faced moderate challenges and 16% faced severe challenges following stroke. The study findings also reflects that 100% of acute stroke survival patients face challenges in physical domain and in in physical domain score ranges from 13-40 with a mean of 28.2 and mean percentage of 70.5 which ranked as 1stand the interpersonal domain which range from 4-18 with a mean of 8.4 and mean percentage of 42 ranked as 5th challenge. There is no association between challenges with socio-demographic characteristics. Conclusion:Ultimately identifying the challenges of those patients will provide some information which will help the nurses to counsel the patient so that they can overcome the challenges. Keywords: - Challenges, acute stroke survival patients, neurology OPD.
