The untying of sustainable development with the depletion of non-renewable natural resources and economic growth has become a major global concern in recent years, which has led organizations as well as civil societies to propose measures aimed at preserving the planet. Although the Information Technology (IT) area has significantly contributed to the formation of this landscape, organizations are increasingly concerned about the environmental impacts caused by IT. Such concern has been commonly treated as Green IT and can be understood as the study and practice of designing, producing, using and disposing of computers, servers and all other IT equipment in an effective and efficient way. In this sense, from the content analysis of similar applications, the objective of this work is the development of a collaborative application for mobile devices for the disposal of computer equipment, enabling the connection of interested people to the correct disposal with people who want to collect these materials. The application, called GreenIT, works from collection requests made by donors and attended by registered collectors and can thus bring benefits to both parties and especially to the environment.
