Cancer represents an important public health challenge, and its occurrence has been increasingly observed at human and veterinary medicine. However, despite of the significant results published by the scientific community, the use of medicinal plants for cancer treatment is not properly widespread. Thus, considering that Curcuma longa Linn. has demonstrated an important antitumor activity, the objective of this study was to present the main results of in vitro and in vivo studies. The anticancer activity of turmeric was found by the capability to induce apoptosis, reduce metastatic potential and inhibiting different tumor types of proliferation. In addition, other activities such as immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and the inhibitory effect on modulating proteins of drug resistance are relevant for tumor therapy. Therefore, the results demonstrated by in vitro and in vivo studies showed that C. longa presents important evidence of prophylactic and curative effect for cancer treatment.

The entire citrus industry is under attack by terminal citrus diseases such as Huanglongbing (HLB) or citrus greening ( Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus ), and citrus canker ( Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri). There is a need to develop fruit quality assessment techniques that can assess the quality of green citrus fruits during the growing season when green fruits are still on the trees. Learning technique is one of the fundamental techniques for fruit quality evaluation. Efforts to develop an efficient automated fruit classification system continued as an industry priority since fruit evaluation through human visual inspection has drawbacks such as subjectivity, high labour costs, inefficiency, and most importantly, the in consistency caused by tediousness. Estimating citrus fruit yield at an earlier stage of fruit development can benefit grow ers to adjust site-specific management practices while it is possible, to increase fruit yield, and plan harvest operations on time to minimize harvesting costs. Also, to, (i) Estimate the infections and fruit defects, (ii) Estimate the number of fruits in the citrus grove and potential fruit size before harvesting, (iii) Yield prediction, and (iv) Make economic estimates such as planning of incomes, and calculation of net profit. An excellent recognition method would be the one that can separate green citrus fruits from background green leaves of citrus trees in the grove. The previous methods had diffi culty in detecting young fruits and creating maps or make economic estimates because young or immature citrus fruits are green and resemble tree leaves. Some recent advances in machine learning yielded new techniques to train deep neural networks, which has the potential to successfully recognize patterns of objects such as citrus fruit’s morphological structure and differentiate fruits from the main crop. This system uses forward propagation, which is a neural network way of classifying a set of images and to improve their performance.

Dementia is a neurocognitive condition that affects individuals in the later stages of adulthood. Cognitive decline affecting memory, thinking, and behavior, alongside symptoms of depression and anxiety are typically present in individuals with dementia. Horticultural therapy is the interaction between people and plant-based activities, allowing for positive benefits through aspects of physical, social, cognitive and behavioral domains. Based on conducted research, these domains are especially impacted when horticultural therapy is utilized by older adults with dementia. Articles used within the research were based on horticulture as a therapeutic intervention for older adults and were published within a ten-year frame (2010-2020). All domains researched in relation to horticultural therapy as a modality exhibited positive benefits for this population. The cognitive domain improves the quality of life of older adults with dementia through relaxation, psychological and physiological aspects of horticulture therapy. Furthermore, the social domain is affected by decreasing social isolation, increasing positive interactions with peers, and increasing quality of life. Additionally, the behavioral domain is influenced by implementing activities such as art and music to stimulate an individual’s five senses. Regarding the physical domain, activities can result in neurotic responses which are shown to improve memory. The domains of an individual with dementia can be directly affected by utilizing horticulture therapy. There are few limitations that affected this research such as resources, finances, and accessibility. This intervention is still being tested due to it being a newer form of treatment, which requires further research. Check for updates Citation: Trainer PD, Bryan A, Crilley A, et al. Trainer PD, Bryan A, Crilley A等(2021)园艺与痴呆:影响领域的文献综述。

Yellow mutant is an important material for studying chlorophyll biosynthesis, degradation and the genetics and development of chloroplasts. The chlorophyll biosynthesis and degradation pathways of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) mutant ym (Yellow mutant) and control ZS4 (Zhongshu 4) were studied. Photosynthetic parameters and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters of the variety ym and ZS4 were measured. The results showed that ym was more sensitive than the variety ZS4, while the variety ym has more tolerant to low light. The chloroplasts in ym exhibited onset of degradation compared with ZS4 under the transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The lack of chlorophyll-protecting material or the chloroplast grana degradation causes the leaf fade.

Abiotic stresses such as salt and water stresses severely reduce crop productivity. Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is an important economic crop; however, not much is known about its stress responses. In our previous transcriptomic and computational studies we showed the level of salinity tolerance in different tomato cultivars. Rab genes were found quite responsive under salinity stress in two tomato cultivars (Pusa Ruby and Punjab Keshari).
