Effect of Different Concentrations of Buprofezin on Food Consumption and Digestion in the Treated Larva of Pericallia Ricini Fab 不同浓度Buprofezin对蓖麻周藻幼虫食物消耗和消化的影响

There was a marked increase in reduction of food consumption at each concentration level in test from 0.0001 to 1.0 percent level. Minimum reduction in food consumption was 20.55 percent at 0.0001 per cent level. Food digestion was reduced by 29.71 per cent at 1.00 per cent level. The reduction in food consumption and food digestion was much reduced in comparison with control.

The maximum present of protein was recorded PUSA-256(24.67) at par by KGD – 1168, Pant G-186, Kw-168 having 24.32, 23.42, and 23.67 percent respectively. The infected grain by Callosobruchus maculatus minimum KPG-59 (21.06) and maximum infected grain protein PUSA – 256 (25.07) percent. The fresh grain protein was found PUSA-256 (24.67) and minimum KPG-59(21.06).

Significance of Seminal Fructose Level in Spermatogenic Activity After Progesterone Treatment 孕酮处理后精子果糖水平对生精活性的影响

Fructose is the main source of energy for the sperm motility. The degree of fructose utilization is directly proportional to the sperm motility. It could be the cause of negative correlation between sperm motility and semen fructose level. Fructose is a source of energy for the sperm motility. A parallel set of squirrels (Funambulus pennanti) treated with high and low doses of depot medroxy progesterone acetate (Depo provera), a synthetic progesterone for short and long term duration indicated that the spermatogenic activity in the seminiferous tubules was inversely related with the concentrations of seminal fructose. Thus the seminiferous tubules showing total arrest of spermatogenesis and atrophy of Leydig cells- anazoospermic condition, a significant increase in fructose values were observed, slight increase in the fructose values were registered in the oligozoospermic condition whereas a significant decrease in the fructose values were recorded in the partial arrest of spermatogenic activity. The results were supported by the cauda epididymal sperm count, histological changes in the Leydig cells histopathological changes in seminiferous tubules.

Some Haematological Observations in Columba Livia Due to Haemoproteus Infection 南美耧斗菜血液学观察

Birds contribute indirectly to human welfare as majority of them feed on insects and rodents and some are efficient scavengers. Poultry forming is a leading profession which provides nutritive food products for human consumption. However, these valuable resources can be infected with a wide range of blood parasites which may affect their survival and existence. In this study, the impact of Haemoproteus, an intracellular sporozoan parasite of the common pigeon. Columba livia on some heamatological parameters (Hb% and TEC) was examined. The investigations were conducted in two groups of Columba livia. Group A: Control, Group B, Heamoproteus infected. The Hb values (13.410.17gm/100ml) in Group A decline to (10.8±0.37 gm/100ml) in Group B. TEC in Group B also declined to 1.620.05x106/Cmm from the normal values of 2.19±0.02x10/Cmm in Group A. The fall in Hb% was 18.97%. and that in TEC was 24.2%. The values of TEC are more affected (24.2 %) as compared to Hb (18.97%). Being an intracellular parasite, the metabolism of Heamoproteus appears to be directly associated with the cells.

Effect of Drug Resistance on the Pathogenicity and Virulence of Salmonella Typhimurium 耐药对鼠伤寒沙门菌致病性和毒力的影响

Various strains of E. coli. and Salmonella typhimurium were studied in vitro for the presence of plasmids controlling haemolysin, drug resistance, serum resistance and colonization factor etc. They were also tested in mice to determine the probable role of the plasmids on the host pathogenicity. To determine the effect of associated R-factor on the pathogenicity and virulence of S. typhimurium, antibiotic sensitive and resistant strains were tested for virulence in mice. The experiments showed that drug resistance plasmids enhance the lethality of their host. This causes a serious problem in effective treatment of patient suffering with Salmonella and E. coli infections.

Respiratory Response and Hemolymph Sugar Level of The Crab Barytelphusa Gureini Exposed To Heavy Metals 重金属环境下古氏大螯蟹呼吸反应及血淋巴糖水平的变化

To explore the respiratory and metabolic responses, the fresh water crabs Barytelphusa gureini, were exposed to sublethal concentrations (2.0 & 2.25 µg/L) of cadmium chloride and copper sulphate respectively. Oxygen consumption and hemolymph sugar level of the animals were estimated to study the stress caused by these heavy metal toxicants. These animals after acclimatization to the laboratory conditions exposed for 0, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hrs to the toxicants. Total oxygen consumption was studied by Winkler’s method and the hemolymph sugar level was estimated by Anthrone method. In the present study, total oxygen consumption showed a gradual decline trend from 0 to 96 hrs in the experimental animals exposed to cadmium chloride, while the hemolymph sugar level recorded an elevation, with maximum increase at 96 hrs. These results showed that cadmium was found to be more toxic than copper metal.
