Feature extraction for video rate three dimensional imaging via coloured spots 基于彩色斑点的视频速率三维成像特征提取

Video-rate three dimensional (3D) acquisition systems are required, in particular for dynamic shape sensing of the mouth to reinforce vocal tract models of speech production. In a new structured light technique for 3D sensing, scenes are illuminated by an array of circular spots which are colour encoded to resolve spatial ambiguity. The projected spots are imaged as ellipses, their position and shape depends on the position and orientation of the illuminated 3D surface. This enables the formulation of a novel 3D Hough transform (HT) specifically for detection of the surface position and orientation via the imaged spots. In the HT accumulator array voting constraints are applied to minimise both the number or background votes cast and the likelihood of raise peaks. This new technique is demonstrated to extract a moving face successfully, as part of a video rate 3D acquisition system.

A real-time implementation of nonlinear control based on the technique of input-output linearisation is applied with the aid of a Texas Instruments C31 digital signal processor working at 16 MHz. Some results of simulation and practical results are presented. This article is limited to the results of regulation of the internal currents of the motor.

Analysis of performance of a TCM-OFDM multicarrier digital communication system in the radio-mobile channel 无线-移动信道中TCM-OFDM多载波数字通信系统的性能分析

The combination of the multicarrier orthogonal frequency division multiplex technique and a type of channel coding forms a radio broadcasting system which is very promising and very efficient in frequency-selective media. The first application of this technique using convolutional coding was developed in Europe. Combining trellis-coded modulation with multicarrier modulation, it is possible to double the spectral efficiency of the existing system without compromising the bandwidth. This work aims to analyse the performance of the TCM-OFDM digital radio broadcasting system by the bias of error probability.

The performance of pipelined designs is measured basically by three values: the clock cycle length, the initiation interval and the iteration time. In this paper we present a new technique for computing the maximal performance of pipelined implementation. Given a data flow graph specification and a set of resources, we derive lower bounds of the initiation interval and the iteration time achievable by any pipelined implementation.

Parallel implementation of fractal image compression 分形图像压缩的并行实现

Fractal image encoding is based on the self-similarity search between range and domain blocks. It can be parallelized in three different ways. In this paper, we first formulate the encoding process and then present one of the parallel implementations on KSRI (Kendall Square Research parallel computer). Experimental results include the encoding time as a function of the number of processors and the speedup curve. The speedup of the encoding process is significant when compared to serial computation.

Modelling of multicellular microwave transistors using the scaling approach 多单元微波晶体管的标度建模

A systematic approach to the modelling of multicellular power transistors is presented. It is based on characterisation and identification (modelling) of the elementary cell of the transistor, and modelling of input and output interconnections using the physical mask of the device. This model enables the small-signal performance of heterojunction bipolar transistors (HBT) to be predicted precisely. The obtained multicell model has been validated by comparison of its predictions with experimental measurements on various HBTs having different numbers of elementary cells.

A neuro-fuzzy (NF) voltage dependent current-reference limiter (VDCL) unit to enhance the performance of an HVDC system is proposed in this paper. This unit utilizes a new method of combining a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) output with a fuzzy inference mechanism to produce an adaptive current reference for the HVDC controller. Results from simulations show that this adaptive current reference improves the performance of the HVDC system under dynamic operating conditions.

Statistical method for motion detection in an image sequence 图像序列中运动检测的统计方法

This paper presents a new statistical method based on the theory of large numbers for detection of objects in motion in a sequence of images. The method, relying on the occurrence of images as a function of time, combines a grey-level background construction and a discussion of the gradients calculated on the current image by comparison with a reference image.

Frequency distance separation between land mobile radio systems 陆地移动无线电系统之间的频率距离分离

This paper introduces a methodology to determine the frequency and distance separation relationships for similar and dissimilar land mobile radio systems. The methodology proposed is demonstrated by two case studies which involve a 25 kHz system and a 12.5 kHz system. The methodology presented separates the interference problem into the spectral, spatial and time aspects. The ISI model is essential in determining the spectral interactions and off-channel rejection factor between two dissimilar systems. The propagation and interference models are used to determine the distance separation required to bring the interference levels down to acceptable limits. The time factors represented by the activity factors of the systems determine the probability of interference between systems. The same methodology can be applied to consider interference between other types of dissimilar radio systems.

Modelling of nonlinear systems by feedforward and recurrent neural networks 非线性系统的前馈与递归神经网络建模

Two types of artificial neural networks are studied in this paper in modelling nonlinear dynamical systems: a feedforward neural network and a recurrent neural network. When the feedforward network is used to model a dynamical system, the inputs to network include the past inputs and outputs of the plant in addition to the present input to the plant. Suitable number of past inputs and outputs depends on the assumption on model structure. For the recurrent network with a hybrid (feedforward and feedback) structure, explicit use of past inputs and outputs is not necessary for modelling since their effects are captured by the network internal states. Simulation results clearly illustrate the difference between the capability of the two networks in detecting system structures which are implicitly contained in the input-output data.
