ADC foaming agent condensation water belongs to high concentration ammonia nitrogen wastewater and particularly contains a large amount of refractory material and biological organisms toxic substances.According to this characteristic, experiments of removal of ammonia nitrogen from wastewater by stripping were carried out, influencing factors on the removal rate of ammonia-nitrogen including pH value, temperature, air flow rate and aeration gas were investigated. On this basis, the application of ultrasound to wastewater treatment was studied. The results indicated that the removal rate of ammonia nitrogen reached 92% under the optimal conditions as pH 10,temperature 30 ℃,air flow rate 1.0 L·min-1,ultrasonic power 400 W and ultrasound stripping times of 180 min.

On Matriarchy and Patriarchy
Pub Date : 2005-01-01 DOI: 10.1163/1877-5888_rpp_sim_14635

The interpretation of matriarchy and patriarchy is pertinent to our interpretation of history and to the prospect of human future. This article lists the mis - interpretations of matriarchy and patriarchy. Drawing on Engles's classic argument in The Origin of Family, Private Ownership and Country, the archaeological discoveries recorded in Riane Eisler's The Chalice and the Blade and some of China's archaeological discoveries, together with analysis of relevant literature texts, the article provides a theoretical clarification of the meta - concepts of "matriarchy" and "patriarchy" from the perspective of social structure and the relationship between humans, contends that the often misused concepts of "matriarchy" and "the system of female power", "patriarchy" and "the system of male power" are not synonyms, through the analysis of the pertinent concept of "peniscenlrism", holds that peniscentrism is a self -conceited exaggeration of the male sexual power, it is a pure biological and fictional concept and identifies the famous feminist claim "if one confesses himself a feminist in China, it also means he must confess himself a masculinist".

Chinese “Bachelor Society”
Pub Date : 2004-01-01 DOI: 10.4324/9780203487884-40
Xue Yu-feng
Chinese “bachelor society” in the United States was a peculiar phenomenon in the history of human beings. At the same time, in Guangdong province, there were thousands of “widowed wives.” This distorted marriage which lasted for nearly a century originated from special political, economic, cultural, and historical environments. Taking well-known Chinese American novels, Eat a Bowl of Tea, The Woman Warrior and China Men as cases, this article makes a brief analysis of the “split households” life of these “bachelors” and their “widowed wives,” and concludes that both husbands and wives were victims of Chinese Exclusions Acts. However, traditionally Chinese male-female relationship undertook some changes under special circumstances.
