Suffering from greenhouse gas pollutions and demand of energy due to crude oil vanish lead to enforce worldwide to look out at alternative Energy sources. In theory assumption are made when optimizing Modeling process, however in practice these assumptions can distort the output response thereby affecting precision and accuracy as a case study in refrigeration system for solar-driven ejector to determine the quality of the energy in the system by change high temperatures sources under the steady state, steady flow conditions. The energy system quality differs on the operation environments, ejector geometry and the choice of working fluid (refrigerant). The study carries out on the refrigeration system with solar-driven ejector (RSSE) using R141b, for an administration building application HVAC system in Tripoli, Libya. The reported hourly outdoor temperature and solar radiation are used for the analysis of the system performance. The optimum parameters were employed to generate a model and predict the behavior of the system at different parameter condition. Using the optimum operating condition, an output of calculations show that through the work times from 6:00 to 18:00, the typical Coefficient Of Performance and the typical solar segment of the usage were 0. 3 and 0.715 in that order as the working environments are: high temperature source (90 °C), evaporative temperature (8 °C), low sink temperature (32 °C).

A solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) can be fed with several types of fuel, including hydrogen gas, carbon monoxide and methane, which are direct oxidation fuels within the cell. In this paper, models of thermochemical and thermoelectric processes were designed and calculated for three types of fuels by using C++ program, The results indicated the thermal behavior and electrical output of the fuel cell according to the temperature change over its operation period. This study showed that the maximum and minimum values for cell outputs such as reversible voltage, electrical work, heat generated and cell efficiency. The behavior of changing these outputs with the increasing operating temperature was compared for each chemical reaction of three direct oxidation fuels.

Viscoelastic materials are used in vibration damping applications as they have the ability to dissipate energy, they are used in machine basis, bridges and many other applications. In this paper four plates with the same thickness but different material lamination are investigated for their modal properties. Namely, natural frequencies, mode shapes and damping loss factors. Experimental modal analysis is carried out using impact hammer for excitation and accelerometer for measurement. Data is processed using computer package to obtain frequency response function (FRF) for each plate and modal parameters are extracted from the plot. Results are compared to finite element model that was created using ANSYS package. It showed very well agreement between experimental and finite element. Damping effect on the shift in natural frequencies was obvious due to the viscoelastic material thickness in the laminated plates. It is concluded that the finite element analysis using ANSYS software is a powerful tool in predicting natural frequencies and mode shapes even in laminated plates with viscoelastic core, it is also confirmed the effect of damping increase due to the use of viscelastic cores on the plate natural modes and vibration behaviour.

This article simulates and configures the eight-channel 10-Gigabit-capable symmetric passive optical network scheme using Opti. System software. The investigation and examination of the system parameters, the input power, link reach, and splitting ratio and their impact on overall network performance. The bite error rate 10-9 and Quality Factor more than 6 is considered to evaluate the model. Firstly, the effects of the transmission reach found the accepted bit error rate and Quality factor for 64 Optical Network Unit compared to 128 Optical Network Unit. Moreover, the test provides a good Optical Distribution Network loss for different splitting ratios. Secondly, the 25 Km and 1:64 splitter results show that the bit error rate of the λ1 is better than λ8. Finally, it is interesting to attempt this investigation using the Return zero data format. The opening eye diagram is cleared than using non return zero format. So, the implementation of 80 Gb/s wave division multiplexing eight channel of 10-Gigabit-capable symmetric passive optical network would be a part of an excellent solution to meet the capacity demands of access networks.

In this paper an analysis study is carried out by GNS3 as a modeling and simulation environment with a Wireshark tool to investigate the reactions taken inside MPLS networks such as path reestablishment and timing (network convergence) of fail/reconnection/rerouting. However, two practical scenarios have been built with MPLS network; one employs OSPF while the other works with IS-IS as routing protocols to examine their responses and behaviors during link and node failure. The results showed that IS-IS is recorded better results than OSPF in network convergence with MPLS networks.

The majority of electrical energy consumption around the world use to be supplied by conventional resources, and local green worries to more clean resources, likewise wind or solar. However, the Available Transfer Capability (ATC) computation integrated with wind power sources with conventional power systems has been highly considered. The fluctuation characteristic of wind has contributed for generating several uncertainties to bulk operation, inform of random generation speed, unexpected generators outage, as well as lines, load achievement and vast on-line computation. Traditionally, to have a sufficiently secure operational margin, a transfer limit is calculated based on iterative simulations using the worst case scenario. This paper intends Probabilistic Collocation Method (PCM) for Available Transfer Capability computations through a penetration of wind energy sources. IEEE 5, 30 bus test system has been employed. The results of the proposed method analyzed compared with the conventional Deterministic Load Flow (DLF) approach as well as the probabilistic Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) method.

This paper’s purpose is to introduce and present a simulation-based study of the effect of using different crossover operators in a genetic algorithm to extend the life span of a wireless sensor network (WSN) and reduce its overall energy expenditure. One of the genetic algorithm’s pillars is the crossover operator. Crossover operators are classified into four types: one-point crossover, uniform crossover, k-point crossover and hybrid crossover. It is shown that using different types of crossover operators has only a minor impact on WSN lifetime and stability period. When compared to other operators, one-point crossover improves network stability period and throughput slightly.

In this paper, a guide for the design and construction of a receiver coil to catch the power losses caused by the flux leakage of an induction motor has been presented. The characterization methods for the wireless power received are also provided. In this work we derived the proper relation between induction motor windings and receiver coil to receive the maximum power possible. The equivalent circuit of the proposed system is introduced along with the circuit theory to analyze the system. The design and characterization method for the receiver are provided. For effective wireless power receive, the proposed system need to be set at 50Hz. Two receivers with multiple circular winding are constructed. One placed at the front of the motor coils and the other is placed at the back of the same motor coils. Using these types of receivers at both sides of the inductive motor, a purely free wireless power transfer of about watts is achieved.

Network Traffic Classification is very essential for Internet service providers (ISPs) and helping them in defining and adapting the priorities. A lot of decisions and actions are taken depending on the traffic classification. That is for both commercial and technical issues. In this paper, different approaches were developed to classify the internet traffic data from different point of views, namely, Traffic Types, URL Categories and Visited websites. The classification was done for each of these types depending on traffic amount and the number of accessing counts. These approaches were applied on a data collected and obtained from the Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) tool installed in the Libyan International Telecom Company (LITC) network, which is representing the only international gateway to Libya through different ports. In order to reduce the international traffic, LITC installed cache servers on its network four years ago. The used data in this work were taken before and after installing these cache servers, to show the changed happened to the network and how cache severs affecting the amount and the nature of the international traffic. The result shows that a large portion of the internet data passing through the Libya gateways is for social network, streaming and search engines, especially for Facebook, YouTube, and Google websites. And the impact of installing cache servers was dominant in these categories.

Electromagnetic waves absorption is required for many applications. Pyramidal absorbers are bulky and hence not suitable for many applications where compact planar structures are required. Metamaterial absorbers has such geometry but with the drawback of being narrow in bandwidth. In this paper an idea for extending the bandwidth of a metamaterial ring absorber is introduced. The bandwidth extension is obtained by using multiple rings each with a slightly different resonance frequency to produce an overall wide band of about 1.4GHz extending from 9.3 to 10.7GHz making it useful for X-band applications. The simulation results performed with HFSS show obeying this objective with an absorbitivity of more than 85% for the entire band.
