Nature inspired algorithms are inspired from our environment. These algorithms are inspired by the behaviour of insects, birds and animals etc. In the same way, the artificial neural network (ANN) is the replication of a human brain. Both types of algorithms are used to solve the complex and nonlinear problems of real world. In this paper, we have presented different nature inspired computing (NIC) based techniques, which are used to design and evolve ANN. The results of our study have shown that the manual designing of ANN is very difficult, so we need to design ANN automatically. The Back propagation (BP) method can be used with the combination of any nature inspired algorithm like PSO, ABC or ACO, as individually, they are not giving accurate results. The hybrid algorithms have demonstrated better results as compared to the individual uses of both.

The undesirable release of toxic and flammable gases such as carbon monoxide (CO) and methane (CH4) possess a serious threat for underground coal mine operations. The gas leakage source localization and boundary detection can not only play an important role to avert its consequences but also allow the mine management to take preventive measures at the earliest. However, the current practices for gas monitoring in underground coal mines have very limited scope for gas leakage source localization and boundary estimation. In this paper, a gas analyzer mounted unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) based intelligent system has been proposed for achieving the desired goal. The location-specific gas concentration values will be statistically analyzed under the deduced Gaussian Plume gas model for underground coal mines to find out the gas leakage source, spread boundary, and gas concentration grid map.

Engineers today are dedicated towards designing safe and long-lasting structures with better life spans. These characteristics and new innovations have been a huge contribution in the field of Structural Dynamics. This parameter of determination of safety and quality is used in the check list of almost all established organizations today to check, test, and experiment. Present work focuses on assessment of the stability of an observation deck on a tower subjected to wind loads. The tower has been simplified for ease in modelling. The tower is a combination of three concrete columns having the cross section of a hollow tube. The diameters of the columns are different, having the same thickness. At the intersection point of the 2nd and 3rd column is an observation deck. The deck has been idealized as an ellipsoid. The structure is under the influence of wind load acting periodically. It is also mentioned how the effects of winds change with change in height. The following work is divided into three parts in order to conduct the analysis aptly. This involves consideration of two natural frequencies being estimated using Rayleigh's method. A cubic polynomial is used to imitate the deflection pattern of the structure. In later stages, Modal analysis of the structure is performed on ANSYS and lastly, Transient analysis is also conducted by applying wind loads and serviceability of the observation deck is assessed. Results showed that the structure is not safe based on the amount of deformations and accelerations that occur on it.

Human resource is one of the most important component of any organization. Human Resource Management with reference to human resource planning and human resource development in order to enhance the performance and thus, productivity is very crucial for sustainability of an organization. Further, in order to motivate and retain efficient employees many of the business organization provides perks, incentives and salary hike too on the basis of performance of employees at various levels in any organization. However, the problem arises when different way or mechanism of performance measurement being used by various departments within an organization against set parameters. Hence, there are possibilities of discriminations or arising dis-satisfaction among employees in an organization. This can get reflect many times when low performer or less efficient employees gets more incentives as compare to efficient employees. This further demotivates efficient employees and accordingly may affect the growth of firm in future. In this context, although relative grading is one of the measures to address the performance of an employee during particular time period, the relative grading method may not be fully appropriate given its certain limitations (as discussed in paper). Therefore, the current study is undertaken with an attempt to address limitations faced by relative grading mechanism to measure the performance of an employee and suggest appropriate model as an improvement may be within or over and above existing relative grading process to address the problem and eliminate discrimination arising with reference to performance measurement.

For long ago, biometric authentication has been performed for high-security applications like bank lockers, private places. Here studies made on the physiological attributes of an individual can be represented with his finger print, iris, etc. Among those finger vein identification is a new methodology in the biometric recognition system. Here, finger vein patterns can be used to give authentication to an individual for accessing high-security applications. In this paper, we are going to perform finger vein recognition Quadrature Discriminant analysis method. Finger vein images are subjected to preprocessing steps for making the image more stable for further processing. Then QDA process has been applied, followed by the Minimum Distance Classifier.

Advent of Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) has helped researchers to know about the dynamic states of brain. One of the maj or goal of fMRI research is the task classification based on the activity of brain states. Every time, it remains a challenge for such researchers to extract optimum features from brain images due to high dimensional quantity of the data in fMRI Images. In this paper, the authors proposed a novel feature selection technique based on Fast Fourier Transform with Particle Swarm Optimization and Genetic Algorithm (FFT-PSOGA) for extracting the best features in fMRI dataset. The resulted features are trained for machine learning models of GaussianNB, Support Vector Machine, and XGBoost and compared for performance with state-of-art. The achieved results are outperforming the existing works based on the same dataset. The authors believe that the feature selection technique proposed in this paper will be the optimal method for extracting brain images' features in any fMRI dataset which will improve the classification accuracy of the decoding of brain images in a much better way.

Digital technology has transformed the basic operations in all segments of the industry by increasing efficiency and reachability. The transformation has made major contributions in the field of conservation through tourism, online ticket booking system being one of the major enablers. Digitization has led to automation of multiple aspects and hence cutting down on costs and increase accountability. The booking process is utilized in the tourism sector to control influx of tourists. Its integration into the platform assists in linking conservation efforts to tourism, which contributes to digital conservation and smart tourism. This paper studies the expectation regarding online booking system amenity from tourists visiting Sunderbans Tiger Reserve, India. The primary data was collected from 250 tourists in November 2020. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis and MANOVA was applied to test the hypothesis. The results suggest that the tourists have a positive expectation and are very happy with the introduction of online booking system amenity. The findings also suggest that there is no significant difference between tourists' gender, education and marital status when considered for their expectations of online booking system amenity.
