Proposed presence system for safety confirmation 提出了安全确认的在场系统

The registration process stores presence information in the presence server, which includes ID for authorization, registered date and time, and location. The reference process loads the presence information using the ID as a search key. Safety confirmation service registers a user's presence and refers to his/her friend's presence. However, existing systems require separate operations for registration and reference. Users need to enter their telephone number as an ID during the registration process and their friend's telephone number as an ID during the reference process. As a result, many steps are required for registration and reference operations. We therefore propose two methods to reduce the number of steps. The presence update method registers the card ID, location of card reader, date, and time by just swiping a contactless smart card through a card reader. The presence migration method from an external Social Networking Service (SNS) selects the place, date, and time in the external SNS using an email address. Both these methods are invoked by swiping the contactless smart card through the card reader, the registration and reference operations of presence information are executed at the same time. Using a prototype system that implemented these methods, we confirmed that the initial values can be obtained from external SNSs and many users can quickly register and refer safety information.

Towards a CAPEX-free service delivery platform 迈向无资本支出的服务交付平台

The paper is aiming at analyzing the possibility for a telecommunication operator to decrease the fixed costs of service delivery, by reducing CapEx (Capital Expenditures) and transforming part of them into OpEx (Operational Expenditures). In particular, the paper analyses the advantages and the risks of moving a service platform on a cloud-based infrastructure, and investigates the impacts of adopting Open Source Software (OSS) solutions for deploying components of a Service Delivery Platform (SDP) and for delivering new services. The proposed approach is exemplified by means of an experimental case study, in which an OSS orchestration engine is deployed on virtual resources dynamically allocated by a cloud infrastructure.

Comparison of cross-platform mobile development tools 跨平台移动开发工具的比较

Mobiles are an integral part of daily life. With time, customers are expecting good and very versatile applications in less time. It is a big challenge to develop high performance mobile applications in this competitive market that would meet the expectation of customers. Mobile operating systems vendors are giving their best available resources for making applications in more convenient ways, although the development of new applications for each mobile operating system in short time is fairly a problem. Cross-platform mobile application development tools contribute in solving this problem largely. This paper presents a pragmatic comparison among four very popular cross platform tools, which are Rhodes, PhoneGap, DragonRad and MoSync. One of the main focuses of the comparison is to provide an overview on the availability of application programming interfaces, programming languages, supported mobile operating systems, licences, and integrated development environments. Furthermore, it also presents some critical points such as the factor of extensibility in tools and the effects that they may bring on market share. The comparison is aimed at supporting developers to make the right choice with respect to their needs/constraints.

Towards a user-centric personal data ecosystem The role of the bank of individuals' data 走向以用户为中心的个人数据生态系统个人数据银行的角色

Personal data is assumed to become the “energy” or the “new currency” for digital world. Currently personal data potentiality is not fully exploited due to “organization-centric” approaches in the management of personal data. This paper presents a “user-centric” model, which aims at unlocking such potentiality, by enabling individuals to control the gathering, management, use and sharing of data about them. In particular, the paper analyses a new personal data ecosystem centered around the role of “Bank of Individuals' Data” (BID), a provider of “personal data management services” enabling people to exploit their personal data. We call this role Bank as it manages data as commercial banks manage money. Finally, it discusses challenges and opportunities for Telcos to become a BID.

Base station direct transmission for mobile enterprise service - Opportunities, challenges and solution 面向移动企业业务的基站直传——机遇、挑战与解决方案

Leased line and business trunk are basic enterprise communication infrastructures, which can facilitate reliable, secure and yet cost effective communication methods between office locations. With the expension of mobile industry, scale of the fixed line business has been declining in developed countries. This is a good business opportunity for mobile operators to provide mobile enterprise services to replace the fixed line services. This paper analyzes the opportunities and challenges operators facing in this new field. To maximize the opportunities and to deal with the challenges, mobile network architecture needs to evolve to accommodate business requirements for mobile leased lines and business trunks. A telecommunication network architecture i.e. I-Net, is proposed. Future work for implementing the I-Net architecture is also discussed.

The paper explores the dramatic changes that are imposed on Mobile Networks Business Models, due to introduction of All-IP Network technology. It looks at existing value chains from an architectural viewpoint and how they are affected due to the All-IP transformation. It analyses the value chain for the various parties in this ecosystem (operators, network equipment vendors, Appstores and OTT1 providers).

Privacy-preserving data mining demonstrator 保护隐私的数据挖掘演示

We present a system for demonstrating anonymized data mining on user profiles, which also evaluates the remaining utility of the generalized information through comparison of the classification results. The use case for this scenario builds around profiles containing personally identifiable information, which should be analyzed and classified by a third party. Our goal is to preserve the privacy of the users while maintaining a certain level of utility to allow data mining over the anonymized information.

This paper discusses context-aware data browsing and data retrieval for mobile subscribers. We describe existing models as well as provide a new description for our SpotEx approach. Our model for context-aware data discovery uses mobile phones as proximity sensors. In our concept, any existing or even specially created wireless network node could be used as a presence sensor that can open (discover) access to some dynamic or user-generated content. The content itself could also be linked to social media. An appropriate mobile service (context-aware browser) can present that information to mobile subscribers. Potential use-cases for the proposed approach include any project associated with hyper-local news data. For example, projects providing Smart City data, delivering indoor retail information, etc.

The Web of Things paradigm brings the available and strongly-supported Web standards closer to the development of applications for heterogeneous environment of smart things regardless of their native operating systems, linking physical and cyber world. Considering the Web of Things architecture, we propose a framework that allows users and communities to create composite services sensitive to context in the domain of building automation. This is meaningful as the capability of automatic responses to context changes is critical to the successful functioning of a building automation system. A case study of VisitorReception composite service illustrates the validation of the framework.

Recent years have seen a fundamental shift in the way that mobile applications are delivered to users. Developers are increasingly moving away from custom deployment approaches towards the use of platform markets for advertising and distributing their applications. Application developers use the platform to manage distribution and payment for applications. In return the application developer pays either a fixed and/or variable fee to the platform provider. Platform providers benefit from the availability of quality applications necessary to attract and retain end users to the platform. In this paper we present results from an original survey. We find that overall willingness to pay for applications remain low consumers are willing to pay for key apps which are perceived to significantly enhance everyday life. We then discuss opportunities for developers to increase cooperation with platform providers in order to enhance value creation, value delivery and value capture.
